Caketopia is a continuation of sorts of the original Juicyverse, but is more of a revamp or do over. The project (not including a prologue) officially begins at Revolution 2022. The project will be split into three brands. Dynamite, Collision and Wrestledream (based in Japan). With elements of the Forbidden Door involved throughout.

PROLOGUE: ACT ONE

William Regal would be announced as the Commissioner of AEW: WRESTLEDREAM, which would see All Elite Wrestling host a weekly episode in Japan (and the surrounding Asian/Oceanic market) with an agreed upon open door policy with other international promotions. It would be confirmed that an inaugural International Champion would be crowned at Revolution (2022). A number of qualifiers/eliminators would occur to determine which select individuals would earn the right to challenge for the gold. A Rambo match would feature as part of a NJPW Tour Show, in the final four men standing would be declared the winners and earn themselves a seeded spot in the future rounds.

The four men that would earn this vital bye would be Kenoh (NOAH), Tanahashi (NJPW), Takeshita (AEW) and AJ Styles who would be revealed as the hottest free agent following his recent departure from WWE. The win would mean that all four men would be seeded moving forward. The remaining sixteen entrants would feature in four elimination scramble matches with the sole survivors earning the final four places in the bracket via these eliminators. The men that won these eliminators would be Kento Miyahara (Jay Briscoe, Brian Cage & EVIL), Kazuchika Okada (Tetsuya Naito, KENTA & Eddie Edwards), Jay White (Katsuhiko Nakajima, Chris Jericho & JONAH) and Naomichi Marufuji (Kota Ibushi, Shinsuke Nakaura & Go Shiozaki).

The first set of matches in the official ‘Rising Sun International’ bracket would be hyped up mostly on either tour shows in Japan either offered by New Japan or NOAH, although AEW would offer match replays on Elevation to allow the American audience the ability to keep up to the date with the action that was helping to construct the scene for Wrestledream that would debut as a new show after Revolution.

The first official match in the Rising Sun International would see Jay White be pitted against Kenoh. Although no one was allowed to come down to the ring with man, they would make their entrance with their respective units of Kongo and Bullet Club. Although the match was taking place during a New Japan event, there was an appetite present of how many members of either faction in the future would be likely to appear on AEW’s new programming in the future. The match would not disappoint though with both men pushing the very best out of the other in a contest that would break the twenty minute mark. As the match progressed it was clear that White was very much taking on the role of the villain in the contest and would bend the rules at every opportunity he could, irrespective of whether or not the referee could see what he was doing and by the way he carried himself it was evident he didn’t really care. His ego would end up costing him though, as whilst being chastised by the referee he would find himself tapping out to the Kenoh Special (Omoplata single-arm straight-jacket crossface) and having karma bite him in the ass. The victory would mean that Kenoh would face either AJ Styles or Kento Miyahara in the next round of the bracket. With that match also featuring on the same card that evening.

The AJPW star would find himself squaring up against a true global star in AJ Styles. The match would be a shorter affair, with it being very evident that much of the focus was being given to Styles which wasn’t surprising considering his status within the wrestling community. Miyahara would offer a reasonable challenge, but the match was controlled by Styles who would claim the victory and advance to the next round of the bracket. After the match AJ would demand a microphone and address the crowd. Styles would talk about how he had made his mark in the federation, but now very much had his sights firmly set on AEW and proving he was forever the true hero and the man who had been walking through forbidden doors before the the phrase had even been coined and that take on an unknown like Kenoh was no sweat off his brow. Styles would make a point of stating that the International Championship would just be a stepping stone and that eventually he would claim the real top prize in the promotion when he was good and ready.

The other two matches on the other side of the bracket would have got seats in chairs with or without the outcomes of winning the contest, with the first of these matches taking place on an explosive episode of Collision with Konosuke Takeshita taking on Kazuchika Okada.

‘The Rainmaker’ would prove to be a massive draw, which wasn’t at all surprising considering who he was within the wrestling climate and the contest was very much his to lose, with Takeshita prior to the match being nothing more than an outside favourite. The match would be a worthwhile viewing, although Okada would look head and shoulders above in the latter portions of the match to claim the victory. There would be a real buzz during the contest, and although Wrestledream episodes would take place in Japan, it seemed pretty evident that Okada could very easily become a massive star if he eventually decided to jump ship and move Stateside. Takeshita and Okada would show each other respect after the fact, but one had to assume that eventually Konosuke would want a chance of evening the odds despite the fact that Okada is a living legend.

During the previous decades Marufuji and Tanahashi had faced off in some incredible singles matches, with Tanahashi currently holding a record of 3-1 so it wasn’t at all shocking that coming into the contest Naomichi seemed to be highly motivated and the men’s history would manage to prove to be enough of a reason to have their match feature as the co-main event at NOAH’s Bumper Crop 2022. The match would a hard fought and instant classic and earn itself five stars from Dave Meltzer, with Marufuji claiming the win by hitting Tanahashi with Tiger Flowfusion to advance to the next round. With it being announced after this final match in the first round that the semi finals would take place on the 9th February at Dynamite #123 in Atlantic City.

PROLOGUE: ACT TWO

The Semi Finals for the Rising Sun International would prove to be a massive payoff for AEW, with the arena in Atlantic City filled to the rafters with everyone who could get a seat desperate to see both matched booked on the evening’s card with a noticeable number of viewers from Japan tuning in for the matches that were were planned to take place towards the end of the night. The first of the contest would be a NJPW vs NOAH encounter with Okada taking on Marufuji.

The contest would be fast and hard hitting, with Kazuchika and Okada throwing everything that they had into the ring bringing the very best of themselves in order to capitalise and claim a victory over their opponent. Okada was the obvious favourite in the contest and large portions of the crowd would be cheering for him throughout the contest. That wouldn’t stop Marufuji from bringing his very best to the table and the fans would be treated to an excellent contest that would come with an unexpected finish. Okada would look to finish of Marufuji with the Rainmaker, but the move would be countered with Naomichi shocking the whole world by folding Kazuchika over with the Twist Donut (Bridging swinging fisherman suplex) to claim the victory and book himself a place on the Revolution card.

With the knowledge that Okada had already been eliminated, it felt like there was an extra motivation for both Kenoh and Styles to advance knowing that arguably they would come into the match a Revolution with an increased odds of winning the International Championship. Before the match AJ Styles would make gestures with his hand that was very much a symbol associated with Bullet Club which left people wondering whether Styles had already rejoined the fold or was looking to do so. The match very much earned its place as the night’s main event with both men not just fighting for a chance of gold, but potentially fighting for a potential contract with AEW in the near future. Both men would look to go aerial in the latter portions with it being Kenoh who would end the contest by nailing a bent over Styles with the Professional Foot Stomp (Diving double foot stomp) before folding him over to claim the three count. This would mean that at Revolution Kenoh would take on Naomichi Marufuji with the winner becoming the inaugural AEW International Champion.

It would also be confirmed that at Revolution - Kazuchika Okada would face AJ Styles and the winner of the contest would earn themselves a future shot at whichever man became the first International Champion.​

PROLOGUE: ACT THREE

The International Championship wasn’t the only belt that was going to be part of AEW’s Japanese expansion. THE AEW Junior Heavyweight Championship was also introduced to the fans as part of an unveiling.

It would be confirmed that at Revolution a Scramble Match featuring six wrestlers would compete to become the first holder of the belt and that rather than having any qualifiers a three person committee would select the competitors participating, with AEW staffer Jerry Lynn being the head of said committee. The first inclusion would be the four time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi, which in many ways wasn’t a surprise to many considering his status in this discipline of wrestling. His involvement also meant that even more global attention was being given towards what could arguably be the greatest pay per view of AEW's short history.

The second man announced would be someone already contracted to AEW, but nonetheless was already setting up for an epic contest with Rey Fenix confirmed.

The next two men would be confirmed as a package deal, although fans had to wonder if the pair would function as a tag team or simply as two individuals with El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori added to the line up. A point would be added that no more talent contracted to New Japan would be booked to take part in this contest.

The most surprising inclusion would be Blake Christian, who not that long had returned to the indies after departing NXT. Christian was very much the underdog of the contest, but with a cult-like following in the indies perhaps his inclusion was being done to attract more of an indie market to check out the upcoming PPV.

The final name to be announced would prove to be just as much of a marquee signing as the involvement of Takahashi. It would emerge that Kofi Mensah (formerly Kofi Kingston) had parted ways with the WWE and had signed a deal that would make him the first permanent member of the AEW Wrestledream roster with his first appearance as the sixth and final man to be competing in the championship contest. In an exclusive interview, Mensah would talk about his desire to establish himself in Japanese wrestling culture and felt that AEW’s new project as the perfect platform for him to attempt to achieve this goal by throwing himself straight into the deep end.

A championship belt for a future Women’s Division would be announced as the AEW Dream Championship. No dates were given or what exactly the plans were, but there were hopes that some sort of extravagant tournament of sorts would take place to help crown the inaugural champion.

PROLOGUE: ACT FOUR

At the start of the new year (2022) it was announced by Tony Khan that not only would AEW look to focus on international markets with the creation of Wrestledream the brand based in Japan, but that also he was very much interested in a brand split occurring as the promotion’s roster was starting to swell. A project that had only been successfully pulled off by one other company in the history of professional wrestling. All Elite Wrestling would be cut right down the middle, half the roster would join Dynamite and the other half joined Collision. Rampage would act as a supplementary show for Dynamite, whilst Elevation would take on the same job for Collision.

Dynamite would claim the AEW World Championship as it’s top belt, whilst Collision would be awarded with the new AEW World Heavyweight Championship. This meant that current AEW World Champion Adam Page had been acquired by Dynamite, which would give Collision the first overall pick in the draft process. It would be noted that all other belts had yet to be assigned a brand and that the draft decisions to begin with would dictate where the other belts belonged, but that management would intervene when balance was needed.

Before a draft could take place though, it was an apparent fact that both brands would require the element of an authority figure on screen, especially when it came to taking part in the draft process. It would be announced that Tony Khan would take on an on-screen role and become the the General Manager of Dynamite, whilst Andrade El Idolo would become the General manager of Collision. It would be confirmed that this would mean that Andrade would be taking some time away from the ring in order to take on this role. It would be announced that current roster members, members of the recently acquired ROH and also selected free agents would also be eligible to be drafted. The draft process would take place over a number of days, with a real desire to make it as big of a deal as possible. It would be confirmed that the first day of the draft would feature five picks for both brands.

The first person drafted in the overall draft would end up being Kenny Omega, which wasn’t at all surprising considering the accomplishments and reputation that Omega brought with him. Omega would give some time to talk to the fans. He said he welcomed the opportunity to be the very first person in history to be part of the Collision brand and that he would be lying if he said he wasn’t interested in becoming the AEW World Heavyweight Champion. Omega would thank Andrade for honour of being his first pick, although would admit he hadn’t been expecting it and that if he was a betting man would have been certain that one of Andrade’s first picks would have been someone from south of the border.

Tony Khan’s pick would be none other than Jon Moxley. TK would not hide his intentions behind drafting Moxley first and that would confirm that at Revolution, Adam Page would defend the AEW World Championship against Moxley. It was clear that Khan was very much laying down the gauntlet and most likely had a level of pressure on his shoulders to make sure that Dynamite remained the promotion’s flagship brand. Moxley would make it abundantly clear that he felt Adam Page was “a fucking pussy” and he was looking forward to “beating ten types of shit out of him at the Addition Financial Arena”.

Andrade’s second pick would turn a few heads as she would elect to draft the inaugural TBS Champion Jade Cargill. Andrade would paint a picture that Cargill from his perspective had the potential to be one of the great women in the history of professional wrestling and he fully intended on pushing her to the moon and expected her streak of dominance to continue for the foreseeable future.

Tony Khan’s second pick would also turn heads as he would draft the ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham. TK would talk about merging elements of ROH into the AEW culture, but at this time he had no plans to actually create a separate ROH entity. It wasn’t surprising that this comment received a certain amount of backlash online for the ROH cult following. However, Khan would talk about the importance of history and that Gresham would retain his ROH World Championship belt.

Bryan Danielson would be the next person drafted by Andrade, with the fans clearly excited by the prospect of Omega and Danielson exclusively signing to the brand. Unlike TK, Andrade wouldn’t offer any indication what his attention at this time actually was, although there was no denying that the thought of Omega vs Danielson was a contest that the fans would surely love to see at Revolution.

TK’s third pick would be a massive big deal, even more so because it showed just how far he was willing to go to create the very best version of Dynamite as he would have signed one of the biggest stars in Japan. The fact that Ospreay wasn’t going to be part of the Wrestledream project, meant that Khan must have some real long-term plans in mind and this created a real buzz online.

The eight pick overall would see Collision draft the current TNT Champion Cody Rhodes. Rhodes would declare his intentions of continuing to be the very best version of himself and intended on holding onto the belt for as long as he possibly could.

The next Dynamite pick would come with a twist as ROH Women’s Champion Deonna Purrazzo would be unveiled. Tony Khan would state that because Collision had drafted Jade Cargill and the TBS Champion that Britt Baker had automatically been added to the Dynamite roster. TK announced that Revolution Baker would face Purrazzo in a unification match with the ROH belt being retired no matter what. One had to wonder how Britt would feel, about effectively being drafted by default and not being an official member of the top ten overall picks. There were suggestions online that TK was clearly some sort of ROH fanboy and that elements of Ring of Honor would no doubt become part of the Dynamite backbone.

Collision’s final day one pick would be Ruby Soho, which would also create some confusion as people felt that surely other women would have been drafted first. When questioned Andrade would state that this was the pick that personally made the most sense to him, especially considering the plans he had in mind for Collision.

The final draft pick of the day would be MJF. Maxwell would be vocal in showing his annoyance for being picked so late, and was clearly insulted by being tenth overall and describe TK as a nepo-baby with no achievements of his own and that he had been foolish to draft him so late, and would have been better not drafting him at all. TK would refuse to take a back seat and would MJF put his money where his mouth is, by booking him to face Ospreay in a ‘No Holds Barred Match’ and that is Maxwell really felt he was the very best then he would have no problem proving himself in front of a large audience.

PROLOGUE: ACT FIVE

The second day in the draft would see picks #6-#15 being made by both brands, with it being felt that both rosters were fairly even at this point in time. Andrade would resume the draft with the eleventh pick overall in the draft by claiming the services of Samoa Joe. Andrade would hint that he had a plan in mind concerning the Heavyweight Champion and from where he was sitting, Joe was one of a number of key pieces that would complete the puzzle.

TK’s 6th pick would be Jungle Boy who was currently one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions. In order to protect the prestige of the belt, it would be stated that Khan would be forced to draft Luchasaurus using his 7th pick meaning that the tag team champions would be making Dynamite their new permanent home. At this stage in the draft it wasn’t clear whether Collision would have their own tag team belts, or whether they would simply go without.

Jurassic Express (Dynamite #6 & #7 Pick)

The automatic enforcement of Dynamite claiming Luchsaurus meant that Collision now had two picks in a row and Andrade would end up drafting The Briscoe Brothers who were the current ROH World Tag Team Champions. Andrade would have Jay and Mark join him on the podium and announce that even if ROH had become something of the past, the pair would continue to be the real tag team champion and present them with the new AEW Collision Tag Team Championship belts. Andrade would confirm that at Revolution he intended for the brothers to defend the belts against three other teams and once he was happy with what he had to play with, he would announce the match during the draft process.

The Briscoe Brothers (Collision #7 & #8 Pick)

Dynamite's next pick would be the ‘British Bastard’ Pac. Pac would set his sights high and turn his attention straight toward title gold and make a solid case that perhaps out of anyone currently drafted to Dynamite at the moment, he was surely already worthy of challenging Gresham for the ROH World Champion. TK wouldn’t book the match upon asking, although that didn’t mean that it wouldn’t happen.

Malakai Black would be the next pick in the draft for Collision. Black wouldn’t hide his desire to have Brody King join him on the brand and almost seemed to threaten Andrade if he didn’t make the right choice.

The Bunny would be Dynamite's next pick, with a level of confusion felt as to why the AEW original had been picked ahead of seemingly much better and more valued women on the roster.

Andrade’s next pick would be Josh Woods, although would express that his interest was in the Pure Championship more than the wrestler who currently held it and that the unique flair of the belt really was something that would be valued on Collision.

The twentieth overall pick in the draft would end up being Darby Allin. After this pick, it would be confirmed that established tag teams from this moment onwards could now be drafted using a single draft.

The Young Bucks clearly felt slighted to have been picked so late on into the draft, so much so that they refused to do an interview sharing their thoughts about being drafted to Collison.

FTR would be the next pick made by TK. With the Bucks now off the board, it was clear that both brands need to be aware of the other’s intention. Unlike the Bucks, FTR were not shy with their opinions and that their sole focus would be to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions and continue to be the best tag team in the world.

Hikaru Shida would be the next woman to join the Collision roster. Andrade would not hold back and confirm that Shida would be the woman to Jade for the TBS Championship at Revolution.

TK would end up dipping into the international market once again this time plucking out Kairi, as the newest member of the Dynamite Women’s Division. Kairi had made a name for herself both whilst working for WWE and in Japan and would make a case that establishing herself in AEW would be the final hurdle.

Andrade would end up securing the services of an extremely talented young tag team in FinJuice, and would state that not only were the pair a great tag team but that they also brought a lot to the table as individuals.

FinJuice (Collision #13 Pick)

Ricky Starks would be the next person added to the Dynamite roster. The current FTW Champion would declare that he would continue to be the hottest young talent on the roster and that he continued to hold the most sought after belt in the wrestling world and would continue to slap away any challengers that came in his direction.

The combination of Matt and Jeff Hardy would be the next team to be drafted to Collision. After the fact, Andrade would confirm that it would be The Hardys, The Young Bucks and FinJuice who would challenge the Briscoe Brothers for the Collision Tag Team Championships at Revolution.

The Hardys (Collision #14 Pick)

Christian Cage would be the next person that Dynamite would draft to their roster. Cage would comment that if anything should be aggrieved about being drafted so late it should be himself and not MJF, and would demand that he be added to the match that had already been booked. The fans seemed to be really excited by that prospect and so TK changed his mind and ended up making the contest a three dance. Cage stated that once he won that match, Tony Khan would have no choice but to make him the next challenger for the AEW World Champion.

Christian Cage (Dynamite #14 Pick)

Miro would end up being the last person being drafted to Collision during Day Two of the draft. Miro would share his desire to become the TNT Champion once more and make the point that he and Cody Rhodes had never faced him in singles action before and couldn’t think of a better time than at Revolution challenging for championship gold. Andrade would end up agreeing and the match would be added to the card.

The 30th overall pick in the draft would be Penta El Zero Miedo. Penta would talk about a desire to have a singles run, and with his brother being confirmed to be part of the AEW Wrestledream project for the foreseeable future the Lucha Brothers were on a break.

PROLOGUE: ACT SIX

The third day in the draft would see both brands make twenty picks each. Below are some of the standout drafts that occurred, as well as the last matches that would makeup the Revolution match card. Orange Cassidy would end up being the first person drafted to Collision at the start of day three. Collision’s General Manager Andrade would offer Orange high praise and that he considered him a real diamond signing and had expected TK to claim him much earlier in the drafting process.

Dynamite’s first pick of the Day Three was another wrestler that many had expected would be claimed much sooner than others and that was Adam Cole. reDRagon were either forgotten by Andrade or never even considered as pick to begin with, as Tony Khan would use the 48th pick of draft on the pairing of O’Reilly and Fish and although he had picked a number of teams beforehand, would announce that the pair would challenge Jurassic Expression for the tag team championships.

Andrade would highlight Keith Lee (Collision #19 Pick), Eddie Kingston (Collision #24 Pick) and Brian Cage (Collision #28 Pick) would be added to the roster. The Collision General Manager would comment that along with Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Malaki Black and Orange Cassidy the eight men would compete in ‘The Double or Nothing Series’ in which points are earned in a variety of ways and can be won in a variety of match types. Ten points were awarded for a submission victory, seven points were awarded for a pinfall victory, five points were awarded for a count out victory, three points were awarded for a disqualification victory, two points were awarded for a draw, and ten points were deducted for a disqualification loss. Special matches can also be made where the winner of the match can be awarded up to 25 points. Andrade would confirm that the first match of the series would take place at Revolution, with Brian Cage taking on Samoa Joe.

The 60th overall pick of the draft would be Matt Cardona who would return to AEW after establishing himself as the true king of the indies. It would be confirmed that as part of agreeing to sign with AEW, Cardona would challenge Jonathan Gresham for the ROH World Championship at Revolution.

Mustafa Ali would be one of the final picks of Day Three and find himself added to the Revolution card, as he would be made Josh Woods official opponent for the Pure Championship.

The final pick of Day Three and of live broadcasted draft would be the three time IWGP Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre, Jr. & Taichi) who had officially left New Japan to join All Elite Wrestling. It would be announced that a supplementary draft would take place, during the press conference after the completion of Revolution.

Beautiful graphics, great roster, absolutely love the lay out of this from the get go.

Regal as commish is always the way to go if he's available. Timeless role. I don't know AEW particularly well, but holy shit these top level matches just keep popping up everywhere you look. I would give you all the money to see Briscoes vs Hardyz (even if two other teams are in there), and Ospreay/Christian/MJF, AND AJ/Okada casually in there too for a fourteen match bonanza of a card.

I can appreciate writing that show will take a bit of time, but I can't wait til it's up and ready because god damn what a way to kick things off.
