Bell To Bell Wrestling is one of the three big mainstream Wrestling promotions based in the US.
During a boom period for the Wrestling business in the 80s, BTBW climbed to the top of the pile
and all through the 90s they were able to fight off their competitors to secure that place, until
a slow descent, which started to show during the mid-2000s, brought not only them, but the
whole industry back down again. Some of the rival promotions were already able to chip
at the throne of BTBW during the 2010s, before a new company arose, which began to advance
with great strides, thanks to them bringing new talent into a bigger spotlight and because of
BTBW's owner Vince McMahon's inaptitude to break away from the creative road he was
driving on for over 35 years. 2020 saw the begin of a global pandemic, which threw the world
and therefore the Wrestling business as well into chaos. Financial troubles, a seemingly
declining fanbase due to wrong booking decisions and stale creativity and multiple scandals,
which came to light during the late summer of 2021 left Vince McMahon no other choice,
than to leave the industry. His last official deed was to give the keys to the kingdom to his son
Shane McMahon, who immediately announced that a lot of changes were already set in motion
and that BTBW will go on a show hiatus for a couple of months, until the first weekend of 2022.

Disclaimer
This is a fantasy BTB. While every talent I start out with is supposed to be in the shape and age
they are right now in the real world, there is a high chance that I'll be bringing in already retired
or deceased talent from back in the day as new talent. Not 100% sure about this yet, but I just
wanted to clarify that, because this project could turn into a pretty mindfuckery one.

BTBW New Year's Revolution 2022

nyrmvd9x.png

For the first show after the big hiatus Shane McMahon decided to bring
back an older PPV in New Year's Revolution and since the first weekend
of 2022 sits on the 1st and 2nd of January, BTB Wrestling decided to stay
in the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas for both of those nights,
for two special 2-hours long shows.

Over the weekend we'll see the crowning of a new BTB World Champion,
after all titles were vacated due to Shane McMahon taking over the company.
On Saturday there will be four quarter final matches, while on Sunday the
semi finals and the final will go down.

We'll also see two Fatal 4-Way matches spotlighting the female talent of
BTB Wrestling. One of the first things Shane McMahon announced, after
he took over was that he wants to give the Women of the company their
own weekly show and they were actually able to secure a TV Network for
it. With that, the two winners of those Fatal 4-Way matches will compete
in the first Main Event of the new BTBW Glory show on Wednesday
to determine the new BTBW Women's Champion.

While we are going to see an additional Tag Team Match between the World's
Greatest Tag Team and the Gunn Club on Saturday, on Sunday there will be a
special Match between two guys, who were in a long, bitter feud over 2021, but
before they could once and for all settle the score, the plugs were pulled. Shane
immediately made sure to give those two a spot on this show to finally lay to rest
their rivalry in a very fitting Texas Death Match.

Lastly, on both nights there will be a special half hour long countdown show for
free on YouTube, in which fans can see one match and Renee Young talking with
Legends and current Wrestlers about the New Year's Revolution shows,
as well as the changes Shane McMahon already made to the BTBW.

New Year's Revolution 2022
@ the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas
DAY ONE

YOUTUBE PRE-SHOW

Through the half hour pre-show leads us Renee Young, who welcomes Hall of Famer Stone Cold
Steve Austin and the currently injured Sheamus, as well as BTBW CEO Shane McMahon
at her round table to talk about the big hiatus, the changes the company is going through
and of course what will happen over the next two days here in Dallas, Texas.

The probably most interesting part of this was Shane McMahon's announcement of the
return of the BTB Wrestling Young Lion Cup after being on ice for 8 years. He explained this
decision with the large amount of personnel changes, which lead to multiple Wrestlers being
let go and an overall desire to bring new, fresh talent into the company. Shane couldn't give
much more details at this point, except for the fact that the tournament will start very soon.

We also got treated to one match during this free-to-watch pre-show on YouTube with
Mustafa Ali, who was in pursuit to win the BTB United Stated title for the first time, right
before the company went on hiatus, facing veteran Kazarian.

nyr_matchgraphics2_algnduq.png

Both crossed paths before multiple times and Kazarian offered a handshake before the first
lock up. Ali, who already didn't looked very happy during his entrance, hesitated but accepted
that handshake in the end. After the first lock ups with clean breaks they started to pick up the
pace and that wouldn't change again until Mustafa began to use a thumb to the eye to stop
Kazarian's momentum. Ali continued to use underhanded tactics from this point on, which
we haven't seen from him in the past. Finish saw Kazarian getting fired up one last time and
even getting Mustafa into position for the Wave of the Future, but Ali broke out of it, rolled
Kazarian up and got the pinfall with the help of the ropes and a handful ot tights.

MAIN SHOW
Commentary: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone & Pat McAfee

The Main Show starts with a video package in which all of tonights involved workers deliver
short soundbites about their matches and at various points throughout the video they utter
the line "this is my revolution". Shane McMahon closes the video while standing in the Ring in
an otherwise dark arena saying "This is OUR Revolution". Then we go into the American Airlines
Arena, where we get welcomed by a lot of fireworks going off and the Texas crowd making noise.

Then Tony Schiavone, Pat McAfee and Jim Ross quickly run down what will happen during this show
today and the show tomorrow, before we go right into the action with the first of four Quarter Final
matches in the BTB World Championship tournament with former Champion Christian facing
Johnny Gargano, who got sidelined by an injury last January, right when he took his first step into
the World Title picture.

nyr_matchgraphics2_choyc44.png

They clearly wanted to start this PPV off on the right foot and Christian and Gargano went long
and delivered a hell of a back and forth match. All Tournament matches have a 30-minute time
limit in place and even though they didn't come close to that, they still put on the longest bout
of the night. Throughout the match Christian tried to cheat and weasel his way to victory, but
Gargano was able to stay in it every single time, while Christian started to lose his temper more
and more. Both were spent at the end, when Christian surprised Gargano with a Spear. He
then needed a moment to pull himself up with the help of the ropes, before slowly putting
Johnny into the Unprettier position, when all of a sudden Gargano counters the situation
into the Garga-No-Escape. Christian put up the very last fight and was just inches away from
the ropes, but had to tap out in the end.

(19:29)

Next up is an interview with the Gunn Club, conducted by Renee Young. Billy Gunn talks about
how his two boys gonna show the World's Greatest Tag Team which team actually is the greatest.
Colten addresses Jason Jordan, who came back last year after being out for some years with due
to a career-threatening injury. He says that if they have to put him back on the shelf, to get to the
BTB Tag Team Titles, then they will and Austin Gunn jokes about how Shelton Benjamin and
Jason Jordan should rather call themselves the World's Greatest Disappointments.

The Gunn Club leaves, while laughing at Austin's last remarks when W. Morrissey steps into
the frame from the other site. He glares at Renee, who slowly walks away. Then Morrissey
turns to the camera and reminds everyone that in the very last Match of BTB Wrestling, right
before the company went on the hiatus, he beat Seth Rollins, who was the number one
contender for the World Title at that point, clean in the middle of the ring and that he
will do exactly that again tonight.

nyr_matchgraphics2_wgdidf2.png

The athletic prowess of Jason Jordan and Shelton Benjamin was on full display here,
while Austin and Colten, with help from their Dad at ringside, resorted to underhanded
tactics, after they tried to hang with the WGTT, but couldn't pull it off. After the first
offensive flurry from the Gunn Club, Jordan took over for a bit and then Shelton
kept the Gunns at bay, before Billy was able to pull off a Clothesline on the outside,
while Austin distracted Jordan and the Referee. Benjamin was now in big trouble for
the longest time and Jason became more than restless in his corner. After a couple
of almost hot tags, Shelton was finally able to turn it around with a surprise Enzuigiri.
The hot tag was made and Jason completely tore the house down, using the Gunns
as suplex ragdolls. After the Jordan Slam, Billy tried to interfere one more time, but
Shelton was there to keep him from doing so and Jordan got the pin over Austin.

(11:31)

We see a short summary video of last year's feud between Dolph Ziggler and PAC,
who traded the United States Title back and forth a couple of times, before Mustafa
Ali started to creep in between the two. Then we hear from both of them.

Ziggler is taping his wrists while talking about how PAC calls himself the bastard and
how fitting the name is, because every single time he won the US title from him,
just to lose it again couple of weeks later, he looked into the mirror of the hotel room
that night and said "Doesn't matter how long, or what it will take, I'll put you down
again and again and again until you stay down, you god damn bastard."
Dolph then
smiles into the camera and proclaims that its once again "time to show off".

PAC on the other hand stands in a dimly lit room and looks through some wet strains
of his hair intensely into the camera. He talks about how he was pissed off at first
about his United States title being ripped out of his hands without him losing it, but
then he started to realize something. He realized over the last couple of months that
is was actually a sign. A sign for him being done with Dolph and that this is in fact not
an end, but a start for his era. "The Era of the Bastard begins tonight."

Before we get to that match, we see the World's Greatest Tag Team celebrating
their victory over the Gunn Club. When they see the camera, Jordan immediately
states that they once again why their name is the perfect fit and Shelton adds,
that they want and deserve a Match for the vacant BTB Tag Team Titles next week
and it doesn't matter if it's going to be on Monday Turmoil, or Friday Night Amped.

nyr_matchgraphics2_pa4li10.png

For the first twenty to thirty seconds of the match almost nothing happened. PAC and
Ziggler just looked at each other from their corner, while the crowd started to pump
itself up, thanks to the wars these two went through over most of 2021. The first
lock up made the crowd pop big and afterwards these two once again delivered a
top tier match. Half way through the match Ziggler landed awkwardly on the knee
and PAC saw a chance in focusing on that leg for the rest of the match. Towards the
end Dolph was able to fight through the pain and the adrenaline pushed him to hitting
the Zig Zag, but there was not enough energy left to immediately cover PAC. When
Dolph finally draped his arm over PAC, it was not enough and he was able to kick out
in the very last moment. The finish then came when Ziggler attempted a Superkick,
but PAC caught his foot and brought him to the mat, followed by the Black Arrow.
by Pinfall:
PAC
(17:44)

Renee Young is ready for another interview and this time she welcomes Seth Rollins
to the microphone with the question, if he had heard what W. Morrissey said earlier.
Seth seems very chipper and starts laughing. He says that of course he heard what that
"tall guy" stated, but he doesn't really care. He is Seth "Freakin'" Rollins and Seth "Freakin'"
Rollins "does not look back at fluke-ish losses" or opportunities, that were taken from him,
like his number one contender spot. During that last part of that sentence, he couldn't hide
his anger, but he calms himself down immediately and starts smiling again, just to remind
everyone that he isn't called the Visionary for nothing and his future looks bright and golden.

Before we go to the next match, we see a short video, shot near a swimming pool. Ryan
Nemeth and Tyler Breeze lying on some beach chairs in the background, where they are
surrounded by all kinds of women in bikinis. HollyWOO, their blonde bombshell of a
manager steps into the frame and tells us, that the BTB Tag Team scene should be on high
alert, because her two hunks are always ready for action and they could go all... night...
long, if that is what it takes for them to get into their favorite position. Being on top.
The bikini ladies answer that with a loud "Woo" in unison and HollyWOO joins them
before the camera goes back into the arena.

nyr_matchgraphics2_mogne9x.png

Different to the first two tournament matches, this one couldn't keep up from a
technical standpoint, but that was to be expected. A typical big guy versus smaller
guy match arose, with Seth outwitting Morrissey and using his speed and agility
to dodge his first offense. When Morrissey finally caught Rollins, Seth was immediately
in great danger, due to the punishment he had to endure. When the match spilled to
the outside, Seth was able to take over for short while and when they both again
exited the ring again, Morrissey tried to take the match in his hand, but ran with full
speed into the barricade, when Rollins dodged in the last possible second. Morrissey
was able to get back into the ring in the nick of time, before losing the match via count
out, but Seth was already waiting for that and took advantage of Morrissey's position
to put him away with The Stomp.
by Pinfall:
Seth Rollins
(11:46)

Backstage is Christian still pretty angry over his earlier loss. He is sitting on a bench
in the locker room and shakes his head. Edge joins him and talks about his match
against Roode later on, but Christian doesn't care too much. Instead Christian tells
Edge that he is pissed and he can't believe that kid is going to the Semi Final. It was
supposed to be him and Edge in that match after all. Edge tries to calm his friend down
and tells him that he is also still pissed about having to be in this tournament in the first
place. He shouldn't have to, since he was the Champion when this whole take over
started, but it's no use to complain. Edge then tells Christian he's going to beat Roode,
then kick Gargano's teeth in tomorrow and get the title back that he never lost. Christian
seems convinced enough, nods and they exchange a bro fist.

Next up is a short pre-recorded segment in which the four women, who we'll see compete
next, get a chance to speak their minds about the opportunity to win the BTB Women's
World Championship next Wednesday on GLORY.

First up is Nicole Savoy, who will make her BTB debut here tonight and she talks about how
she spend her whole career in the independent scene, where she broke new grounds
time after time and now, finally getting the opportunity to work in the "big leagues", she
promises to again break new grounds. Jordynne is up next and she talks about how her power
and toughness will bring her the victory today and on Wednesday and while she shows us
her muscles with a bit of flexing, she adds that her body only misses some gold around its waist.

Nikki Cross is a ball of energy, walking up and down a more abandoned looking part of a
building, while she talks and every once in a while looks to the camera. She has a big smile
on her face throughout and says that she hopes the others are "ready to play with Nikki",
because "Nikki is ready to play with them". She adds that it is time for Nikki "to play and
win and win and play"
, before she stops walking and instead turns to the camera. Her smile
fades away and she comes very close, before she ends her part with the words "Game time."
Mickie James finishes up this segment. She says that even with all the years and the five
Women's World Title reigns she has to her name, she still feels there is one more big run
in her and she'll do anything to prove to those, who started to doubt her being able to
still keep up, that they are "very, very wrong."

nyr_matchgraphics2_faurdkd.png

Well, it's a Fatal Four Way Match alright. Chaos ensues within and around the ring for
pretty much the whole Match, mostly thanks to the big opportunity this match brings.
The first big exclamation mark was set by Savoy, who started suplexing all three of
her opponents, after the dust from the first chaotic wave settled. Pat McAfee rightfully
pointed out on Commentary, that that's why she's called the "Queen of Suplexes". She
wasn't able to secure the victory with that flurry of suplexes, but she definitely was
able to deliver a lot of damage. Halfway through the match Savoy even topped this, when
she put Jordynne through the commentary desk. Afterwards Mickie took over, but Nikki
was always right there, when James or Savoy tried to pin each other. After a Mick Kick,
Nikki tried to steal the victory, but that's when Jordynne came back into the picture and
Grace handed out punishment. After delivering a very hard Fall From Grace to Mickie,
she put Nicole with the Grace Driver away, after countering another suplex attempt.
Nikki tried to throw everything at Jordynne, but was eventually caught in the Bear Hug
and while Mickie and Nicole tried to get back up to break the hold, Nikki passed out.

Next up we hear from "Glorious" Bobby Roode, who addresses Edge. Bobby talks about
how he won last Year's King of the Ring tournament, but then making the mistake of not
being completely focused on his World Title opportunity against Edge, thanks to his
feud with Chris Jericho at that point. Roode tells Edge not to worry though, because he
won't make that mistake for a second time.

Before the Main Event of tonight's show we go back to Renee Young one more time,
where Johnny Gargano stands for an interview. Renee asks him who he would rather
want to face tomorrow in his Semi Final match, Edge or Bobby Roode and Gargano
says that it doesn't really matter to him. He adds that one year ago, when he was finally
ready to enter that World Title picture, he got injured and was gone for the whole year.
That year in which he wanted to take that big next step of his career, but he sadly had
to stay home and simply wait to be fully recovered. Gargano continues with telling us,
that 2021 was the worst year he ever had to get through, but he did and Johnny
Wrestling "is back on the right way." He adds that that is why it doesn't matter if
he has to face Roode or Edge or whoever. Nobody and nothing is getting in his way.

The Main Event tonight is a rematch of last year's Great American Bash, where Roode
as King of the Ring challenged Edge for the title. Thanks to Jericho showing up at the
entrance after Roode delivering his Glorious DDT, Bobby didn't cover immediately and
Edge was able to kick out and go on to win that match. Tonight, there is no Jericho around
and therefore we saw a leveled playing field. It went back and forth and they exchanged
more than one set of near falls during this bout. Once again Bobby Roode was able to
hit the Glorious DDT on Edge and it already looked like he'd advance, but Edge, probably
more thanks to pure instinct, was able to put his foot on the bottom rope in the last
second. The finishing line came in sight, when the two started the good old final exchange
of blows, while being not quite stable on the feet. The last time they pushed, Roode was
almost able to hit a second Glorious DDT, but Edge was barely able to hang on to the
ropes and Roode went down on hard. Edge then saw his opportunity to end the match
and did so with the help of the Spear.

Of course I'm gonna give feedback to the fellow Bayley fan.

Very intrigued about Ali working heel in this one. I think you definitely have a chance to do something fun with him in that direction if that's where this is going and I bet it is. I'm so far most intrigued about him and I don't think that's going to really change.

Yeah, no qualms at all with Gargano going over Christian. I might not have picked him to win the tournament but he was always getting through the first pin here.

Not a bad choice at all to have the new WGTT take care of business and get the win over the Gunns. No issue here.

I'm ambivalent on PAC as a wrestler but I fully understand the decision to have him go over here for sure.

If I wanted anything from this Renee-Seth segment, I think a bit of cheekiness about their past run-ins with each other would've been amusing to read. Or a wink-wink thing with Mox. That being said, served its purpose. Rollins was ALWAYS going over Morrisey. So that's not an issue.

Think Christian is probably going to turn on his brother at some point. The question will be will it come in the finals or before that.

I'm kind of surprised at the choice here with Jordynne over someone like Mickie. But it's a bold choice and I can respect it, especially if the person who I think is winning the next Fatal 4-Way is the one who does it.

Good Gargano promo, if you wanted to convince me that he was going to be the winner or at least in the finals, your presentation did its job.

Yeah, Edge was definitely always winning this match too. Not surprised that Christian didn't get involved yet. No qualms. Nada.

Really fun effort here as an intro show! Looking forward to Day 2

Well first and foremost thank you so, so much for your feedback, CTRL! :mark:

Just to be clear, this is basically a re-imagining of the wrestling world with big fantasy influences (like, for example, bringing real life retired/deceased workers in as new talent)... so Mox and Rollins might not even have any history together.

I know that sort of BTB can get confusing fast, that's why I always try to sprinkle some bits and bobs in segment/matches, if there is any history between people/companies. Especially now at the beginning of this, where all kinds of backstory has to be established.
