I thought that's what happened although it would work a nicely from a storyline perspective as well. I think this whole Orton vs Bryan thing might have taken a sharp turn in another direction with Orton helping him out. They could still continue it as planned, but they have an opportunity to do something much better with that kind of match ending.

What Senhor said. Nerves around the back/neck/shoulder area are either pushed together or forced apart. This can cause everything from temporary numbness to herniated discs if you are unlucky. Most stingers are light and the pain/numbness goes away within minutes or hours. Pretty common in close contact sports like hockey.
