So.....

It looks like WWE is actually following through with Goldberg vs Brock for the universal title.

It seems like Goldberg will end Owens streak, Brock will beat Goldberg at mania, and Owens and Jericho will fight for the US title. Jericho and Owens fighting for the title is fine by me. But, they had to make Goldberg vs Brock for the universal title??? Why the fuck is that needed??

What's your thoughts on this? Is it pretty much set in stone and we're going to suffer through an 5 min main event match at best?

This is all okay if Brock's run with the belt is as good as the last one.

I agree but how can that be possible now? I mean unless Balor beats Brock at summerslam.... that would be epic. And if they're truly trying to push Balor, that's the perfect way to do it.

Not a fan of it at all. That match doesn't need a title. I mean, I like Lesnar and wouldn't mind him winning, but this would be the worst case scenario, at least in my book.

Oh, and I wouldn't rule out Goldberg defeating Lesnar once again. "Anything can happen in WWE" - you know how it goes.

KO vs Y2J should be the Universal title match, period.

I'm not as down on the Lesnar/Goldberg match being for the title as you are, but I would prefer it be KO and Y2J.

What I mostly agree with is that I wouldn't rule out Goldberg defeating Lesnar again. Everyone "knew" Lesnar would defeat Goldberg at Survivor Series. We know what happened. Everyone "knew" Lesnar would eliminate Goldberg from the Rumble, hence setting up their final encounter at Mania. Now, everyone "knows" that Lesnar is definitely going to win at Mania. I mean, they couldn't have Lesnar beaten by Goldberg four times (if you include the Rumble), right?

The Lesnar outcome seems pretty predictable. WWE could have led us all into a false sense of believing this is the inevitable outcome. So who really knows what will happen?

Vince! :vince3:

Yeah, man. I can totally see Goldberg squashing Owens at Fastlane, followed by him defeating Lesnar at Mania. Hopefully it doesn't happen, though and they go with Owens vs Jericho.

Where yo' grandma stay.
This is the epitome of the last few years of Wrestlemania (With the exception of 30; even then it took a small scale revolution to get Bryan in the Main Event), fucking over the workhorse for the part timer for the sake of bringing in filthy fucking casuals. Goldberg/Lesnar doesn't need a championship it's a backstage brawl away from a blood feud! Lesnar's pride is the only thing that should be on the line! The worst part is there's a 89% chance this closes the show. What happened to supposedly wanting to compete with WK11? Ending off with a shitty match won't do any favors.

I agree with every part of this scenario, but I'd rather have zayn vs Jericho for the us title at mania. And UT is Balor vs Owens. Brock vs Goldberg can be a lame 5 min match where Brock wins.

I've said this when that rumor first appeared and I'll say it again: Vince books what he wants.

Because you seemingly can only be a top guy in today's industry if you were a big name in the late 90s- mid 00s.

I have no problem with part timers overall but WWE are going to have a big problem in 15 or so years when they don't have any future Brocks or Bills to roll out. It's almost like they have forgotten how to properly elevate talent.

I don't think they have forgotten just going for the short term money grab.

Last quater of 2016 was the most successful one they have ever had including the AE. THe part timers draw money.
