It's a possibility considering what they're currently doing with the whole scenario. Brock is also fighting taker. A 52 year old broken man in a HIAC match.... Seems likely he can fight austin
Age doesn't matter because Undertaker can still go. Austin hasn't competed since 2003, with multiple neck surgeries and horrible knees.

Age doesn't matter?.... Are you kidding me? Why not let some 70 year olds compete?

Undertaker has been injured as well. And is barely able to hold a match. Austin can maintain being thrown around a bit

Um...sure.

You haven't seen the guy wrestle in 12 years, and he can still get thrown around. I heard Curt Hennig still takes bumps like a champ too. The Undertaker may need to be protected more now, but obviously he can take better bumps than Austin, who had to take minimal bumps in his match vs. The Rock in 2003. And that was when he was younger and in-shape (somewhat)

In other words, he will have had 13 years to heal up if he were to wrestle next year, unlike Taker has.

Austin's a pro; There's no guarantee that ring rust would be an issue for him. It'd be an all-out brawl for the most part if he and Lesnar ever locked horns with each other anyway.

The Rock was away from the ring for nearly eight years and it seemed like he barely missed a beat.

Rock is years younger, far healthier and the time span between his matches are shorter. Not the same thing.

I hope Steve Austin never steps into a ring. His neck is so fucked up, it'd be nothing but selfish on my part to want him to face Lesnar now. Dude could die in the ring.

It's close enough and the principle is still the same. Austin has even said he's in no real pain and he was cleared back around 2009 or so to wrestle again (except he was already long retired by then, so he hasn't.) I'm quite confident that one match, even against the likes of Lesnar, is more than doable. He's even made it clear before that the physicality of working another match wouldn't be the issue, it's the six months of training to get in shape (and stay in shape) and the adrenaline rush from the excitement of being in the ring again that he would have to get out of his system all over again afterwards that has him hesitant about returning.

I think at the very least that the Brock/Austin podcast will be to tease a possible match-up to try and get people talking and see just how amped up people would be for it.

He was medically cleared to wrestle again? Can I get a link?

He said it in some interview several years ago. It'd probably take quite awhile to dig through and find lol. I'll find that shit tomorrow though, I'm tired at the moment.

Your argument is just poor. You're stating that Austin, a man who hasn't wrestled in years because of injury, can't fight Brock in one last match. Yet, he's maintained his health and had time to rest.

But, somehow, you feel that taker... A guys who has years of old age over Austin and still a damaged body, can just hold a match better than Austin?

Taker can basically take bumps and sometimes build a head of steam and hit some big move. He basically takes a beating. Something that lots of people can do. His name is why he sells PPV.

To an extent, in all fairness, I see your point, but when Brock is about to fight a 52 year old man in one of the most brutal matches in WWE history, your point sucks. And, WWE won't let Austin wrestle unless he can do some good stuff and take hits. So if they go this route, he's obviously fine.

Same with Hogan. He's been saying that for the last 6 years, and it's never true. I won't take Austin's word for it because if it were true, WWE would've bounced on brining back their biggest draw ever back.

Austin and Undertaker are both 50 years old. The Undertaker is pretty beaten up but nothing that can threaten his life. Austin on the other hand has knees that in his own words cause him extreme trouble when he's just lifting weights, followed by piled on neck injuries and surgeries with the added side effect that he hasn't been wrestled in over a decade.

The Undertaker, is pretty beaten up, with bad knees and he isn't as agile as he was back in 2009, but if he were to face anyone who wasn't the WWE's Hulk, than he could put on a good match. Like his match with Bray Wyatt. It was good, he took good bumps, and had some really good WrestleMania moments.

Austin said it himself he can't take a bump flat onto his back, unless he wants to risk being paralyzed. Watch the Mania behind Mania, the injuries he was going through isn't something that just heals overtime. Neck injuries rarely if ever heal 100%, especially not multiple ones and surgeries plus a weakening system to handle the injuries. I'm sure he'll be able to run the Mighty Maccabee gimmick of being beaten silly but never taking a bump, but WWE won't put that on TV, PPV or the Network.
