Brock Lesnar was interviewed by Yahoo's MMA area to promote the new season of The Ultimate Fighter reality series today.
When the Undertaker-Wrestlemania rumors came up, Lesnar commented, "That thing just took on a life of its own. I'm a fighter. There wasn't anything there. I never pursued anything, no."

When the issue came up later, Lesnar reiterated, "I'm a fighter."

Whilst it's a little unsurprising that Lesnar would comment saying something like this, what he says seems true to me.

Afterall, it was the Undertaker moment at UFC 121 that triggered rumours and they didn't stop until recently when Lesnar was announced for his coaching role TUF. Lesnar never indicated that he was trying to quit MMA or make an appearence at Wrestlemania.

Meltzer was the one fanning the flames with these rumours, and substantiated or not (Dana admitted he'd spoke to Vince, though only to say no), it was never Lesnar's own doing. His silence didn't help though.

Thoughts?

This was a media manufactured rumour, Meltzer takes half truths and runs with it. He doesn't look at what he prints and is nothing more than a tabloid junkie. Other than that, it looks like Undertaker and Brock, just don't like each other. Or he is just a jinx and Brock knew that and thats why he was mean mugging him.

I am surprised that Lesnar even commented on this issue, he seems like someone who would just ignore crap like this. It is good that he has set the story straight after all the rumours that continued to fly around after one comment by Undertaker. Good on Lesnar for continuing to focus on fighting rather than take the massive pay day for the one night. Shows that he is serious and that he wants to fix the mistakes he made in his last fight.
