Yeah I'd love to see her try and stop a fast break dunk from LeBron James. She wouldn't stand a chance and it's not knocking her, but she wouldn't make it in the NBA. Not going to ever happen!

Yeah, well, I don't know what to think of this. It would be just a media boost for the Mavs because they've been playing shit so far this season and they won't probably even make the playoffs, since Lakers are SO MUCH BETTER than them right now, even minus MWP and Nash recently. So Lakers deserve that #8 spot on the west. So I think this is just a desperate attempt by Cuban to point all the fingers in the world at his team, media-wise. On the other hand, if she's that good, that dominant, why the hell not? Why would she have to play in the WNBA if she's like multiple levels above the level of playing in WNBA? Sure, she'd write herself down in history, but there's no point in being in a league when you know it takes you a little to dominate every single goddamn player in it. That means she belongs to NBA, atleast she should try it out. As RRS said, if she fails, she fails, a minus for Mavs and a letdown for the fans if they decide to hype her debut so much.

The notion that a girl can't be better than a guy in basketball is a pretty shallow outlook and a sexist assumption. The same thing you just said about women being in the NBA is the same thing that pretty much got said with High school players going to the pros but some of them worked out and got a shot. There are some female basketball players who have been skilled enough and special enough to compete with guys and Griner is one of them.

The assumption is that she isn't better than anyone left on the table in round two and that is a fair assumption. Only 60 players are drafted each year and there are thousands upon thousands of players to chose from not just from the college system but from professional leagues all over the world. The only reason she will be picked is for publicity and Cuban himself in that interview stated as much.

Well yeah of course it's for pub but this has only even come up because she is possibly the most special female basketball player we have ever seen who could change the game for women's basketball. People can say whatever they want about Cuban but the man is smart as he really has nothing to lose here. If she fails then she was suppose to fail anyways and he still would get publicity from it. If it somehow worked though then he would have made history and make a shit load of money off of it as well.

LOL thinking she can hold her own.

Ever watched a women's basketball game?

Botched pass, missed layup, airball, missed shot, botched pass, missed shot, botched pass, airball, repeat.
The athleticism and skill just isn't there. Basketball is a man's game.
