He's a great agile meathead. And I think if that's all he is, then that's fine.

I say that because I've seen people comparing him to Brock Lesnar in the past, and I think that's pretty out there. Cage honestly just doesn't have that same aura - despite the fact that Cage is probably even more disproportionately jacked and more mobile than prime Lesnar. Don't know if it's because of the legitimate athletic background of Lesnar, the fact that there are way more agile big guys in this era, or if it's something else entirely, but Cage doesn't have the same presence. And then beyond that, Cage doesn't really have any big time matches on a major platform to tell whether he can be a real top guy like Lesnar. The closest Cage has come so far is in Impact, but he was hurt for much of his title reign, and his biggest defenses were against Elgin and Callihan. Both feuds/matches were great but not to the point where you can compare him to a generational talent like Lesnar.

So like I said, I totally appreciate him for what he is. He's a freak athlete who has a ton of really cool moves, can bump like a cruiserweight and may one day soon be one of AEW's premier faces. I like Cage a lot but some people just need to pump the breaks on putting him in that top tier when his psychology, selling and ability to make people buy in emotionally are still mostly unproven.
