One of my favorite wrestlers of all time if not my favorite. Always enjoyed everyone of his matches, and always enjoyed everything he brought to them.

This really was so emotional, what a match.

I rewatch the SummerSlam '94 cage match just about every year around May since it's my favorite Owen match and EASILY the best cage match in history for me....but damn I really don't think it's better than Bret/Austin at 'Mania 13 so it might not even be Bret's best match

I think it's just my favorite because of it being with Owen.

Just off the top of my head, Bret might have more wrestlers' best matches than anyone else. Could be forgetting some of course, but Bret has a lot of famous ones like the two named already, Bulldog at SummerSlam...bunch of random PPV matches against midcarders like Hakushi that are probably included too

Bret could take any wrestler and make them look like they could be the next big up and coming thing.
Something I think which even McMahon fell for once or twice as he went rushing to offer contracts to mediocre talent after seeing their match with Bret and thinking

Oh , Bret carried the match from start to finish.
He put over so many awful wrestlers like Davey boy
Who he had to carry through summer slam due to Daveys fav pass time outside of the ring which made him sluggish and with out an ounce of energy during matches.

He also put over the goat in Austin
I can remember the Austin 3:16 era beginning and rejecting the gimmick since I was only 10 and it was more of an adult gimmick but after his I quit match with Bret
That was it
Austin was so far over with even the pre teens which I was at the time which was no easy feat but seeing him turn Bret heel before our eyes
We couldn’t help but start to like him as no one around our age could comprehend that Bret turning heel was even an option

As far as technical wrestling goes, Bret Hart is the GOD of that style. I will also say his 1997 character work was fucking awesome. He was easily the best heel in all of wrestling in 1997, because he was RIGHT!
