Speaking of Bret's book, in it he seems to shift the blame for the Montreal Screwjob from Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels to Triple H. Although the blame for the Screwjob has been passed around numerous times over the years, it does explain Bret's wife's reaction towards Triple H backstage on the Wrestling with Shadows documentary.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was HHH, he's always seemed to be the most manipulative of the Kliq (Hell, he's the one that married Stephanie >_>). He's also the one that made mention of it on the WWE site not long ago. The only two people that have yet to let go of this are HHH and Bret... Kinda makes you wonder.

I actually saw the ending of that DVD last night on TVO. I saw when Bret and Vince talked about how the match was gonna end, he then got screwed, Vince and him spoke in the locker room and outside you saw Bret's wife chew up HHH. Was never a big Bret Hart fan but it's his own fault, Vince did what he did for business.

Um, the reason why Bret Hart blames Triple H for it is because if you read Shawn Michaels book, the screw job was Triple H's idea. According to Shawn's book, After the meeting where Vince told Bret it would end in a DQ, Vince met with Shawn. Vince didn't know what to do. It was Triple H who came up with the idea of having Hebner call for the bell during the sharpshooter reversal spot. Vince & HBK just went with it.

Triple H has since never denied this. Bottom line is its fact that regaurdless of how little power Triple H had back then, Vince needed an idea and was desperate to come up with a way to insure the Belt didn't walk out onto Nitro the next night. Vince did what he had to do as you all said. And what he had to do was to use Triple H's idea. This is the real reason for Triple H's stroke in the company. Its believed that his relationship with Stephanie got him to the position he is in, when in reality it was his idea on that fateful night in Montreal that got him to where he is today and if anything helped him get into Stephanie's pants.

i can see both sides on the story..

Bret Hart was busting his ass for WWE for over 10 yrs.. He wanted to stay in WWE.. but i think vince wanted out of bret hart new 10 or 20 yr contact.. Eric quickly talked Bret hart. i dont think bret Hart actually wanted to leave WWE to started off.

But on vince side. there is nothing worst than seeing your Current world champ #1 man off WWE rocking up on WCW Nitro with the WWE Championship. That i dont reckon bret hart would ever do that to WWE... But with WCW Money and ERic you don't know...

But in the end... WWE lost an TOP one of the best wrestler bret hart than 2 months later HBK got an serious injury than put him out for over 4 Years... I guess karma bitten on HBK ass.. in the same time HHH had a Knee injury in which he couldnt defend the european c'ship, Vince recieved Black eye and Earl was very sick in hospital around WM 14 time... bret Hart didnt get another world championship reign for 2 years...

I never like it. i felt Bret got screwed but Vince had to protect his company at the same time... it was one of those decisions that even myself wouldnt know what to do at the time...

but probabaly in this day and age with all copyrights and that.. WWE would have a huge law suit if Bret Hart rock up on the Nitro with the championship.. but i don't know I'm not into law.

i think the best way should have been that Bret Hart surrender the title coz of "no terms met by both parties on the new contract" <<that would be a better solution for both, the WWE and Bret Hart.

one thing is that it was great business on the part of Vince...he needed to protect the WWE title......Bret should have been more professional regardless of how he felt about Shawn.....Bret screwed Bret.....but Vince HBK HHH and Hebner did it also
