What's the big deal. The only 3 that matter are The Rumble, Summerslam and Mania TBH. Bragging Rights at this point serves the purpose much better than Survivor Series, especially with the brand lines drawn.
Thank you. People are too uptight about the changing of a name. I mean if it was one of those three, with maybe even the exception of Summerslam, then I could see some sort of a questioning of the matter. Since their names already dictate the gimmick of some sort which dwells under a long tradition. Read what Vince said, pretty much exactly what I had denoted. Changing the name is the best way to show people, hey this is something new now not that old same shit, to possibly get them interested and turned away from the fact that it WON'T just be some random ass teams thrown together in shitty cluster-fuck tag team matches. So moronic? No. You're the morons for getting upset over a shitty name for a shitty PPV which has been outdone long ago. The only way those random ass multi-team matches were interesting was if there was some title at stake, such as controlling Raw, or some huge storyline, such as Invasion. Both, obviously, very rare and can only be duplicated or be shadowed by for so long.

Oh, btw, the concept of Survivor Series being a spectacle for 'big time' matches (like Summerslam) is also pointless. That should only be WM. If those two (Summerslam and Survivor Series) are savored as the important PPVs then what the fuck does that leave all the other PPVs? Shitty PPVs building up to these great ones? They should all be equal in terms of quality, so having some type of gimmicks for some (SOME, not all, a moderate amount would be good enough with MINOR gimmick-esque matches, like submission, hardcore, etc.) is the right idea. However, don't get me wrong, gimmicks like ALL HELL IN A CELL or ALL ELIMINATION CHAMBER are absolutely and utterly fucking stupid and asinine, imo. Just because those matches are so significant and prominent in ENDING a HUGE feud or rivalry with their sheer brutality. I really don't even like the Bragging Rights concept, but they made it somewhat entertaining with Jericho winning and played it out pretty decently.

I honestly think that the name change will if anything piss of the purists mainly for nostalgic purposes. Alot of people know the name and have fond memories I am sure of watching it as a kid like I do. Growing up it was my favorite PPV next to the Royal Rumble and Mania (obviously) and honestly I do not mind the name change it's not like any of the last few Survivor Series' have been any good tbh they have been gay. The last time I cared about the PPV was back in 2004. I am all for a new name and event all together, the elimination matches now are just thrown together with a bunch of random guys. I say bring back War Games (or technically debut it with the WWE name)

If WWE has proven anything in the past year or so it's that they're not out to please the purists because honestly...it can't fucking be done.
Instead he's doing the smart business move and taking his massive new fan base and running with them, and trying to snag as many new fans as he possibly can along the way. If the "purists" weren't happy with them leaving the big 4 PPV's in the past few years why would this year be any different.
The company is in a massive transitional period with tons of new stars, new concepts and a new direction. The names of PPV's are only one more minor thing to change.

Apart from a few exceptions they never gave SSeries the love or creativity it needed so, aside from a little misty-eyed nostalgia, it's no big loss.

I'm only okay with this move if they replace the PPV with something actually...you know...GOOD

I'm sick of these unoriginal WWE gimmick match PPVs and I don't want yet another to replace Survivor Series. If they're doing this to bring back War Games, or create a new concept, then I'm fine with it
