I think the Fiend really put a lot of people off but Eater of Worlds and Firefly Funhouse were tremendously awesome gimmicks. But more so it’s seeing how much his colleagues loved the man that has me moved

Fiend was a great gimmick too and was over when he first debuted. I just don’t think wwe understood it.

I think his best gimmick, though was the one that really never saw its full potential, and that was his very first incarnation of Bray Wyatt that started in FCW, and we saw a small glimpse of it in NXT and that was the swamp cult leader that was based off of Robert De Niro’s character in Cape fear…. nothing supernatural about it… just a southern preacher that got people to do what he wanted them to do.

I thought he was a genius because he was more than just a wrestler. He created a character. He created a character that could’ve been on a tv show or a movie. He really showed how wrestling how could be larger than life and the entertainment value is so much more than just what goes on in the ring. The Wyatt Family was top tier television imo.

Unfortunately that was pretty much just Waylon Mercy and I think they didn’t wanna go down that same road. The Fiend was his weakest character imo just a crazy awesome look. Until he got burned up and looked like a turd.

I mean I liked it. He was just booked horribly from start to finish. That WOAT hell in a cell match with Seth and then jobbing to Goldberg. Then losing to Randy at Mania in like 5 minutes. What the hell do you think people are gonna say about it after shit like that

I don’t disagree there at all

The Fiend though did take away his biggest assets. His ability to talk and his facial expressions. If they’d of left him as a demented Mr Rogers it might of had a longer life span….but who knows…this just sucks and I’m so incredibly sad he’s gone

Part of me thinks it would have worked better as a "You pushed me too far" thing he brings out to end feuds tho honestly that might have only worked with the character he came back as. I do think there was potential there with the Fiend but it takes a great mind to make it work. Bray could have if given full power, Vince tho? Yeah no

It sucks that we are missing out on another 10 years of Bray Wyatt on WWETV.

It sucks even more that a wife and children no longer have their husband/father.

As fans you know what I hate? I was hoping in 10-15 years get a "HEY HEY IT'S CONRAD THOMPSON AND YOU'RE LISTENING TO FIREFLY FUNHOUSE WITH BRAY WYATT." (or you pick whoever the host is if Conrad isn't your cup of tea).

hearing a behind the scenes and behind the mind of Bray would have been fascinating.

If Conrad is still alive in 10 years I’ll be shocked

This was a tear-filled, stream of consciousness poem, written in one go and not edited, as a tribute to Windham Rotunda/Bray Wyatt.

I completely agree.

The cult leader thing could have been so much better if they had expanded on it. Rowan with the creepy sheep mask, the butcher shack, the preaching in the swamps, the followers... I was hoping we'd get more members in his stable like when he converted Bryan and Orton. Audrey Marie would have been a nice female addition to the gimmick too.
