I was incredibly shocked when I read the news of Bray's passing. Talk about a generational talent that we never got to see fully realise his potential. There was clearly so much untapped creative material in that mind of his that we will just never get to experience now, which is a tragedy in itself.
I've always said that the best verion of Bray Wyatt was the OG stuff we got from him in NXT as a the backwoods cult leader. Those early gritty promos with Eli Cottonwood standing behind him were just gold. It's a shame we never got to see him push that character more before they started manipulating it into something different on the main roster. I never cared much for the way they tried to move the character into a supernatural one when he got to the main roster (especially after his feud with Undertaker) and I didn't particulary care for the Firefly Funhouse/Fiend either, though I really appreciated the creative behind it. His latest work with the QR code, follow the white rabbit promos was excellent though and captivated fans to a level we've not seen for years. It's a shame we never got to see out the whole Wyatt 6 and Uncle Howdy stuff.
This is a terrible tragedy and above all else I really feel for his family and friends, who have clearly lost a golden soul.
