Over the past few weeks Nintendo's been releasing small snippets of details regarding its "next generation" Pokemon adventure on the Nintendo DS -- at least in Japan. Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, the latest Pokemon RPG, is being prepped for an October 2010 release in Japan, but Nintendo of America just announced that the games will be heading to our shores in the Spring of 2011.

As usual, Legendary Pokemon will be branded on the covers: for Pokemon Black Version, you've got Reshiram, and for Pokemon White Version you get Zekrom.

In related news, the latest Pokemon games, HeartGold and SoulSilver have sold, to date, more than 8.4 million copies worldwide. More than 200 million Pokemon games have been sold across Nintendo consoles since the franchise began 14 years ago.

Expect a showing of the two upcoming Pokemon games at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo next month.

They look pretty badass.
