I've pretty much alluded to that yes, hence why I said I can't relate to it at all. I'm not American, I don't live in the south, I don't work a blue collard job, I don't drink beer as a passtime, I'm not perpetually sad hanging out with an acoustic guitar, I don't ride horses, I don't wear cowboy hats. I do drive a pickup, so that is one thing in the country column. There just isn't much there for me lyrically either.

Folk music I find more skillful, better instrumentalist and usually more on brand for what I like lyrics wise, so I can relate a bit more

Folk and country can definitely tend to blend, but I side with Jeff on really liking folk music and not caring for much country

Although there are plenty of sentimental country classics I can enjoy. Will not call myself a fan of the genre as a whole though.
