I like Jackson 5 shit the most, for sure. 80s pop particularly isn't my cup of tea. Which is interesting because I rather like modern songs with the 80s synthpop influence

Good point and fair enough. I just figured production because I have Black Metal due to the production sounding like shit, but I like Blackened Genres like Black Trash or Blackened Doom

And if I may be completely ignorant for a moment, I also feel a lot of the vocal performances of these 80 synthpop hits are just medicore. But it may be the mix, too. Idk. I think nowadays there's just much more depth, sonically, to make the style sound better to me.
