Shouldn’t be a shock though anytime I’ve done song from the previous year themes they are usually weak. We’re an older crew and with streaming we don’t need to listen to radio or new music anymore

On the flip-side, I'm pleasantly surprised by some of these picks. And it's not like those older artists didn't still go crazy on their songs. Least we can hope for is that everyone hears something new this week that they like.

Lazarus and the entire Blackstar album is an absolute ripper,

so I ain't hating on the old heads. 2016 was my freshman year of college and there's so much baked in nostalgia for the music of that time, but hey we hope any and all broaden their horizons with checking out some of these tracks that's the real point to this.

Without sounding like a nerd. 2016 was a very important year for music. But not in terms of content, it was a transition year with albums plummeting in favour of streaming. I think 2017 had a lot of big time record as labels delayed releases for fear of sales loss. I could be wrong, but this is at least a conversation I remember listening to with one eye closed LMAO
