If it was like 1976 it probably would have been my favorite My decades preferences, roughly is like 70s > 90s > 2010s > 2000s > 80s with of course some genres being stronger in some eras than others... but being that the general vibe of the 80s appeals to me the least, late 70s clearly suffers from some of that spillover.

None of this is to say that this playlist wasn't great.

In the 80s in general? I mean I don't wanna speak in such broad terms but to me it's the most superficial/synthetic era of music until probably the mid-to-late 2010s up to today. Disco, hair metal and synth pop are all fine but none of them are really my favorite subgenres and as always it depends on who's doing it and how much they're putting into it. My second choice for song was a Bee Gees joint.

There’s a lot of problematic lyrics in a ton of old music not just glam. Different times and such

Yeah I get that but like. Glam metal is probably second only to 50s crooner stuff when it comes to an oversaturation of grown men singing about teenage girls in untoward ways

I can think of a couple but not a ton and I’ve been listening to it for 40+ years
I can think of a lot more from before the 80s personally

But I also feel getting offended in hindsight by art of the past is a futile exercise. Society norms change as we evolve doesn’t make the past less entertaining.

Toughest week for me to judge so far. A few times that they were really close. And my top three could have been top five if i am honest.
