Cody Rhodes is advertised to defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Booker T at the December 29 SmackDown live event at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York.

It had been rumored in recent weeks that the six-time world champion would be returning to the squared circle for a program with Rhodes.

I wouldn't mind this at all. A short in-ring return from Booker T would be good and putting over Rhodes would help Rhodes and the IC title. Booker T is still in great shape and I am sure he could easily get back in the ring for a few months at a time. I think that we will see Booker do the Lawler thing where he wrestles a few times each year.

What do you think about Booker T wrestling again?

As long as Rhodes goes over. I'm all for it.

I agree if he comes back he has to put Rhodes over, there would be no point having an announcer defeat him.

I'd be happy to see Booker T back in the ring, but like you guys said it'd only be if he was to put Rhodes over. Having him go over Rhodes wouldn't make any sense at all as it'd damage the big build up the WWE have done for Rhodes these past few months.

I don't see this feud lasting very long, but I'm sure it'd live up to the hype.

Something I over looked in the article until now is that this advertisement is suggesting that Rhodes will be holding the IC title until the end of the year. As we all know they have the disclaimer that the "card is subject to change" but if they are going to bring back Booker T to feud with hiim it would make sense that Rhodes is still champion. It would be good seeing him hold the title until next year and come out of his feud with Orton on top.

Unlike Lawler, Booker is still in good enough shape to perform, and I think he has the profile to really give someone like Rhodes the rub in a short program. I guess there is also a logical feud because of Rhodes instructing his helpers to hand Booker a bag quite often on Smackdown in the past. Maybe a one off match between the two would be enough and then have T wrestle someone else.

I want to see this mainly because Rhodes needs to stop losing to Orton he's what like 1-10 against him now? Booker would do a good job making Rhodes credible.

Actually the first two matches of their feud were won by Rhodes. One of them was due to an interference from somebody which Rhodes capitalised on, and the other was a win by DQ. Pretty sure the only real win Orton has over Rhodes recently was at the last pay-per-view (the name slips my mind).

The last PPV was Vengeance. The issue is a PPV win is much more important than a DQ win on Smackdown. Rhodes needed that win on PPV but for some reason WWE wanted the IC champion to lose clean and have his opponent kick out of his finisher. I am sure that if Booker comes back he would be willing to put Rhodes over and it would give Rhodes more credibility if he convincingly beat someone like Booker T.
