That's why I suggested the idea of Brett Rogers as his first opponent. Strikeforce is going to try to use Lashley as big marketing, so throw him in with Brett Rogers as his first opponent. Lashley wins, they can go to Lashley/Fedor because they know that's probably the biggest main stream money making fight they could throw together right now and if Rogers wins they can do Rogers/Fedor II and I think that since Rogers didn't have a bad showing that can make money too.

Definitely a win/win situation for Strikeforce.

it's a big draw to us. but realistically a fight against fedor early would be completely silly

to mma fans, bobby isn't even a black lesnar yet. all the fans know is another ex wwe guybeat bob sapp. yay doesn't say much

if bobby has potential you'd better mold him into the face of the franchise. with big wins bobby could reach lesnar fame. A figurehead is exactly what strikeforce needs to compete. he can piggyback off of lesnars fame, one was in college wrestling, other was in the army.

hyped black lesnar, probably going to see henderson as a heavyweight, newly acclaimed brett rogers with a good bounceback. wiiiiiiiiiiith fedor and you gett a talked about hw division you're going to see just how you work your stars to make the max amount of money

If MS suggestion comes to fruition and he beats Brett Rogers, then I think it'll be fine if he fights Fedor. Rogers gave Fedor a real run for his money in their last fight, so if he can prove he's better than Rogers, then he deserves a chance at Fedor.

^not to mention lashley has better ground game than rogers, fedor probably wouldn't have got up after the knockdown if it were lashley, no saying fedor wouldn't have pulled off a submission though. To me fedor is beatable just no one has done it yet, he's been rocked many times and has won fights he realistically shouldve lost, but thats what a true champion does, find ways to win.

but to say fighting fedor too early would be a mistake, look rogers had fought literally nobodies until arvloski and his next fight was against fedor,im usually against the 1 win and you get a title shot idea but strikeforce isn't so deep in talent and that may be the way things go.

i would say put lashley up against styles on Jan 4th on their live show for the title as the main event, he can lose to styles and then have the next month off. most fighters have 4-6 months off between fights, and only train for a particular fight 8 weeks prior to the fight. so he can realistically do both and his deal was non exclusive so he can still wrestle.

Diego Sanchez is from TUF. No they don't do that. Usually they wait till the contract is over and then sign them. You don't watch MMA huh?
I watch enough to know that they acquired Machida and Rampage in a similar fashion. I don't watch enough as a vast majority of fights are boring and prefer boxing, but that's why I asked. And stuff like contract purchasing happens all the time in boxing and other contact sports, I'm certain for the right instance UFC would do that. Sorry for speculatin' professor.:disgust:

^ I believe Rampage and Lyoto's company closed which was why they went to UFC. I know Rampage was from Pride.

How can boxing be more exciting than MMA? To each his own I guess.
