Sorry for the misleading title. You won't find nekkid peoples gettin' busy on bikes here.
I love bikes. All bikes, particularly the two-wheeled varieties. And by bikes, I don't mean the lame ones that have motors built in. I mean real bikes that are powered by the marvelous human engine. To me, there a few things more beautiful than a finely designed bike.
Every time I open up a new month's issue of Bicycling or Mountain Bike Magazine, you'd think I was a 10-year-old who just found his dad's Hustler collection.
So every once in a while, I'm going to post a picture or two of some beautiful bikes in here, and hopefully you can all appreciate what it is I'm showing you, even if you're not crazy about cycling, mountain biking, or bmx.
Let's kick this off!
What do you get when one of the world's finest bike manufacturers teams up with the group that manufactured one of the world's fastest cars? This:
The Specialized S-Works McLaren Venge.
Aesthetically, a tremendous looking bike, but there's more to it than just good looks. McLaren took the already light and fast Specialized S-Works carbon fiber frame, kicked it around in their wind tunnels, and made the frame lighter, more aerodynamic, and faster. Put that together with internal cable routing, tapered head tube, Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic components, Zipp 404 wheels, and many other cycling goodies, and you've got yourself a professional racing dream ride.
Hold your horses though. If this bike is so good looking that you're actually considering riding yourself, I hope you've got a really big piggy bank. This bad boy starts at $18,000 US.
