- World Wrestling Entertainment will pull the plug on WWE.com's Heat series and bring ECW on Sci Fi tapings to the Raw brand tapings this June, following a company tour of Australia, according to multiple sources.

The plan is to have the ECW brand performers on the Raw tapings as a way to increase interest and ratings in the Tuesday night Sci Fi series, which would now be taped prior to the live Raw broadcast under the plan.

One would assume ECW talents would also join Raw house shows as well, but that has not confirmed.

The Smackdown tours would become stand-alone tapings and house shows for that brand alone.

Heat, which originally ran on the USA Network, then MTV, has been in production since the late 1990s. It was moved to an Internet platform when WWE returned to the USA Network. Internationally, WWE has already informed TV affiliates that a WWE Classics series utiilizing old footage would be replacing Heat shortly.

As if SD wasn't bad enough already with the ECW roster. Now it looks as if it's by itself. Nice choice...

I didn't care about Heat but I thought it was a good way to get young talent ready for the main brands. Also, ECW should stay the way it is. Nobody is ever going to care about it so why bother moving the tapings to Monday nights?

They must be stacking SD with the draft if they are removing ECW talent from SD.

Stupid, stupid move.
First off, as others have said, smackdown gets screwed over by taking away the supporting cast of ECW. No miz/morisson to be there for the tag division (so I guess they'll be dropping the belts soon to a SD team) and also no Punk of Kofi Kingston or Kane. Wow, that takes some solid midcarders away.
And also, those guys will only be able to be on ECW now. I mean, the Raw roster is already huge and stacked and now the guys who appeared on Smackdown AND ECW, will only be able to be on ECW.
I dont like this move much. I mean, its nothing huge, it just seems stupid and pointless.

Rest in Peace Heat - August 1, 1998 to May 23, 2008: You will be missed.

I actually like this idea, it gets the ECW wrestlers such as Shelton, Kofi, Knox, along with others over and as mentioned in the first post, it may bring higher ratings and more interest in the ECW program.

Heat hasn't been needed for a long time, so it's fine with me. I guess this means the end to the SD/ECW talent exchange and will instead make a RAW/ECW talent exchange.

Totally forgot about Heat but Heat has history and it wil be missed. I still won't watch ECW because they have it at a horrible time in Canada (Fridays at midnight) but I am interested on how they'll develop storyline with all three shows.

See I can't see that being true. (the ECW part not the Heat part) I mean I realize the brand seperation means shit these days, with guys like CM Punk appearing on all 3 shows and wrestling like 4 matches the week they were in Canada. (vs. Orton on Raw, w/rest of ECW vs. Triple H & Kennedy on Raw, w/Kane vs. Chavo & Bam, vs. Matt Hardy on Smackdown) But I mean are the ECW & Smackdown guys going to have to be at Raw on Monday's to do the ECW taping for the Smackdown guys that make appearences on ECW and then the next night for the Smackdown tapings? The only way this works is if a) they drop the whole ECW/Smackdown talent exchange angle and/or change it to a Raw/ECW talent exchange. b) Smackdown also moves to Live tapings on Friday nights.

Yeah right, we would miss Val Venis and the local heroes.. :yeahright:

Heat wasn't needed at the moment, it was more of a gimmick show rather than a real real show. And after the death of his girlfriend velocity and the birth of his daughter ECW, it has to die and this is the time... As for moving ECW on the RAW tapings instead of Smackdown, that doesn't sound well since RAW is already stacked with loads of talented superstars and getting ECW superstars on the brand isn't going to do anything good, in fact this is going to make everything look even worse.. :disgust1:
