Beyonce's performance at Super Bowl XLVII was widely praised as one of the best halftime shows in recent memory. Someone in Beyonce's camp, however, was not too pleased with a few photos of the singer's performance that appeared online.
Shortly after Beyonce's halftime show, Buzzfeed published a highly favourable photo gallery entitled "The 33 fiercest moments from Beyonce's show."
The site received a letter from the singer's publicist asking them to take down several "unflattering" photos that appear in the gallery.
"As discussed, there are some unflattering photos on your current feed that we are respectfully asking you to change," said the email. "I am certain that you will be able to find some better photos."
The publicist's efforts to suppress the photos appeared to have had the opposite effect. Instead of removing the pics Buzzfeed editors published the email and re-posted the so-called "unflattering" photos. Other websites responded by posting the images, which are widely available through photo agency Getty Images.
Some are wondering why someone would want these photos removed from the internet. "In what world are these shots unflattering?" asks Buzzfeed while Gawker wrote that the publicist "clearly doesn't understand her client."
Here are the Beyonce Super Bowl halftime show photos. Judge for yourself whether they are "unflattering."
