His job isn't to be an abusive asshole

But true Biff is more of an outright villain.

Granted I haven't seen the movie in almost 15 years, but how is he abusive? If I recall correctly, he's watching over kids who are in detention and asking them to be quiet while they talk back to him and do stupid shit around the school and the library.

He is quit nasty in some of the scenes with Bender. Its like a class thing in the film. He's the jerky middle class teacher who just looks down on the kids and dismisses them without getting to know them. There are darker scenes later in the film to go with the more comedic lighter stuff.
