It's fair to say you and I disagree on the first film for the most part since it did not deliver what I was expecting it would, even if I liked it a long time ago.
That's the point I was already trying to make. I said I like the first film and it's a decent horror film. That's why I said the only knock people really have with it is it wasn't a copy of the first game, but honestly it didn't need to be since it still emulated the concept pretty well.
It's the same argument I've heard everyone try to use for the last ten years about the movie. It was never supposed to replicate the movies. That's the point.

If they were to be any sort of 1:1 we already seen it. Wouldn't have made it as interesting to see when we can just play the video games.

Two and three are still good films, but they're hardly horror films, though. More sci-fi action vessels similar to Aliens.

I just really enjoyed them because I got to see the whole franchise in the theaters and they were just fun films.
