Movie or TV,

I’ll start with movie, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

The music, the celebration, Anakin being trained to be a Jedi, Padme smiling at him, Obi Wan becoming master, and two species uniting in the republic as the trade federation is defeated.

It makes the Original Trilogy look even more dark knowing how happy the republic was before the empire took over

Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen.

Arguably the greatest "happy" ending in all of television history.

This ending almost feels ominous knowing what's to come. Especially that look between Anakin and Padme.

To further elaborate my thoughts on Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen:

You can't get much happier than a bunch of people who never wanted to be in the Korean War in the first place finally getting to go home and see their families, even in spite of all of the god-awful carnage they've witnessed throughout the series. Throughout the episode too, everyone just suffers. Charles teaches a group of Chinese POWs Mozart, but learns they all die horribly in a mine explosion. BJ thinks he gets to go home, but is forced to return due to mistaken orders. Father Mulcahy goes deaf saving a POW. Hawkeye arguably has it worst than everyone suffering an emotional breakdown following one of the most traumatic (and iconic) moments of the series. That final scene where everyone says their goodbyes gets me every time. Not only that, there's that final shot to cap off the greatest television series, bar none, without any equal.

One of my favorite happy endings is from 1960’s The Apartment w/ Jack Lemmon & Shirley MacLaine. Basically, the guy gets the girl but the story told leading up to it is interesting.
