Thought you said Daniel Bryan was the greatest technical wrestler? ;)

That's what my hypothesis would be based upon the research I've seen mixed in with drug abuse and other factors such as years of concussions. As Crayo says it's still an unforgivable act and I can't condone what he did but I believe he wasn't capable of a rational thought at the time of the actions.

At the moment he is yes. All-time it's tough. Benoit v Bryan, fantasy match making right here.

Taker had great technical ability too in his younger days.

Great wrestler & performer. Just can not forgive him for what he done outside the ring.

Well in a better way you can just say you like the Wrestler not the person.

Also you really don't know what was going on in his mind. Eddie's death hit him pretty hard.

Death's happen daily, in much harsher circumstances to much closer human beings.

Every 4 seconds, someone dies.... So 11 people died, just as I typed this, @[Crayo]

Good post, generally didn't know that. If he did suffer brain damage, that definitely lessens the story's horror-feel to it, but it's still not something you see in every single brain-damaged patient in the world. As for the HoF RKO, trust me, he'll never get there. WWE have never mentioned him purposely on TV since the news broke of what he done.
I genuinely signed up to defend Benoit. He did it, but it wasn't himself. His brain had taken so much damage it "resembled that of an 80 year old Alzheimer's patient". He didn't know what he was doing at the time. If you remember former WWE superstar Chris Nowinski who was a close friend of Benoit's and actually majored in neurology he ordered to open up the case again and found this information out. He also hit out at the WWE trainers and medical staff for not picking up on this. The majority of people don't know this but it's something that must be known. The problem is, WWE don't acknowledge it and will never acknowledge Benoit as a person again.

There's a film coming out about Benoit's life and it'll be interesting to know in what light he is shown in. Hopefully a sympathetic one because that's what he deserves.

I understand he was brain damaged, I understand he wasn't mentally sane. But I personally just can't condone it. If someone was to murder someone close to me with the same sort of "conditions" (nothing is proved, but don't worry I do believe he was severely mentally handicapped) I would never forgive them, would you? It's a shame WWE won't acknowledge it, reports said that Vince wasn't happy about this DVD coming out also, but I understand why. They mention him, someone google's his name, the first thing that well come up is the horrible thing he done.

I'm not telling people never to forgive him, I'm not forcing my views on anyone, simply stating my opinion.

Of course, that's what a forum is for, voicing your opinions and I'm all for it. I just feel as though a little clarification was needed.

It's not something that can be condoned. At the end of the day, Chris Benoit killed his wife and his son - that's what it says in the history books and that's what it will always say. However, it wasn't Chris Benoit, was it? He had no idea what he was doing, he was a different person, Alzheimer's is an awful, awful disease and it causes even the most sane of people to take a turn for the worst and they just don't live a normal life anymore.

Completely agree. I know someone with it, it's horrible. If there is sufficient proof he definitely had the mental stability of an Alzheimer's patient then it should definitely be aired just for the dignity of the Benoit surname. The more I discuss it and find out more about it (I'll be honest, I only knew what happened not why etc) I become more sympathetic, but I agree that HOF will never be something he'll get into. It'd destroy the WWE image a lot.
