Last week, WWE star Becky Lynch officially became a citizen of the United States.

Lynch passed her citizenship test before the March 18 episode of WWE Raw. The news was mentioned by Michael Cole on commentary, and Lynch also announced it to the live crowd after the show ended.

On the latest episode of Sports Media with Richard Deitsch, Lynch promoted her new memoir "Becky Lynch: The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl." During the interview, Lynch addressed why she felt it was important to become a United States citizen. Lynch said that, with her husband and daughter both being American, she thought now was the right time for her to become part of the communal U.S. family:

You've read about this in the book, I always just had this yearning to be over in America. I felt like anything was possible if I could get over there. And I could follow my dreams and all those kind of cliches about the American dream. But I think more now than anything, it's that I have an American daughter. And I have an American husband. And my family is American. It's time for me to be part of that family, not just like the immediate family but the communal family.
So I had to have my green card for five years. And when that happened, I applied right away.

Lynch is now a dual citizen of the U.S. and Ireland.

Today is the release date for Lynch's memoir. The book's release comes in advance of WrestleMania 40, where Lynch will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women's World Championship.
