Looking forward to seeing what you do with this as this was a real transition period but one I enjoyed as I was a teenager and obsessed even more than I am now haha. Good luck! :)

I was doing a rewatch of WWE 2004 until WWE Network stopped in Australia so looking forward to this for sure. I've no issues with Lesnar and The Berg sticking around for some extra star power to the rosters. Plenty of talent on both rosters, should give you the chance to do something fun. Good luck with this.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW
Monday March 15, 2004
Continental Airlines Arena
East Rutherford, New Jersey

Episode #564

Following the WWE signature opening, we cut directly to Vince McMahon who is sitting in his fancy black leather chair in his office. Vince said the theme of WrestleMania 20 was where it all begins again. It's not just a theme, it's a promise and things need to be changed around here. It's time to shake things up. The fans deserve new superstars, new matches and new rivalries. It's time for a new WWE. He announces that this Saturday Night there will be a special 1-hour WWE Draft Special. It will air on Spike at 8 PM this Saturday Night. Everyone on both rosters will be eligible even champions, there's no exceptions, because it's time for a new Raw and a new Smackdown and a new WWE. Vince explains the rules; Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman will each take turns drafting their own brands one by one. At the beginning of the draft a coin toss will determine which brand gets the first pick. Each brand will alternate turns selecting whichever superstar they would like. Now both GMS will be able to make trades until Sunday night at midnight, as long as they run the trades by Vince first and he approves them. Vince finishes by welcoming everyone to the MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!

A video montage highlighting the incredible events highlighting Wrestlemania XX ending with Chris Benoit’s making Triple H tap out to win the World Heavyweight Championship. The package fades as Benoit and Eddie Guerrero embrace a hug as both men reign supreme in the WWE. We go inside the Continental Airlines Arena as pyro blasts on the stage area as the raucous crowd cheers. Still on a high from the previous night’s actions and Vince McMahon’s game changing announcement, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler kick RAW off by hyping up the “incredible” action from WrestleMania XX and discuss how everything will change this Saturday with the WWE Draft.

We cut to inside the ring as Lilian Garcia has a microphone and states “Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the NEW World Heavyweight Champion….Chris Benoit!!

As “Whatever” by Our Lady Peace rings throughout the arena, the new World Heavyweight Champion confidently makes his way onto the stage to a huge ovation. RAW’s top champion dressed in his new “CRIPPLER CROSSFACE” tee over red and black tights. Flashing a toothless smile, “The Rabid Wolverine” unstraps the title belt from around his waist before raising it aloft as he journeys toward the squared circle. Benoit nodded to Lilian out of respect before getting on the top rope and raising the title high in the air as cameras pan around the sold out crowd in New Jersey. Benoit walks over to the corner of the ring and grabs a microphone. Benoit briefly looks out at the fans before staring at the World Heavyweight Championship smirking. Chris says that it's about damn time. It's about damn time after the years of sacrifice and putting his body in harm's way that he finally earned the right to be called World Heavyweight Champion. He goes on to say that he proved all his doubters wrong at the Royal Rumble when he came in at number one and outlasted twenty-nine other men and won the whole thing. But it felt even better last night at Wrestlemania, the biggest show of the year, making Triple H TAP OUT!! Benoit says he knows Triple H isn’t here tonight as he is healing from the beating he gave him last night but says if they are on the same brand after the draft he has no problem getting into the ring with him and making him TAP OUT AGAIN!!!.

A roar from a majority of the crowd as another smirk comes across the face of Benoit. “As far as the draft is concerned. I don’t care if I stay on Raw or get drafted to Smackdown. I’m the World Heavyweight Champion and whatever show I'm on after Saturday it’ll be MY SHOW!!” Chris goes on to say that he knows how hard it is to keep a championship and that it’ll be harder to defend it successfully than it was to win it in the first place. He will defend the World Heavyweight Championship anytime, and any place against any superstar but one thing is for certain and that is whoever is next in line he will make them “ TAP OUT”.

~”SEXYBOY”~

Michaels, a bit limp from the hellacious Triple Threat Main Event championship match, casually walks out. As “Sexy Boy” plays, the icon walks towards Benoit applauding the World Champion. Shawn is sporting the black HBK shirt with red and white lettering with a bandage on his forehead from being cut open last night. HBK gets inside the ring and doesn’t waste any time as he and Benoit stand face to face as the music stops playing. The New Jersey crowd starts a dueling chant “Benoit”, “HBK” exchanging between the two dueling chants as HBK and Benoit soak in the crowd.

HBK grabs Benoit’s mic to a huge gasp from the crowd. Michaels goes onto congratulating Chris Benoit on “Finally winning the big one. Welcome to the club kid”. Benoit stares at Michaels. Michaels goes on to mention how he wasn’t a part of the decision last night which means he didn’t lose the match. He wasn’t the one who tapped out, Triple H tapped out. “ As far as I'm concerned, Benoit, I’m still owed a championship match” Michaels profoundly states as Benoit looks on with a grin. Michaels wants to make a lasting impact on possibly his final Raw and since Benoit stated that he is a fighting champion, he is challenging the Rabid Wolverine to a World Heavyweight Championship Match TONIGHT!!!! “What do ya say…CHAMP? You, me, the World Heavyweight Championship….TONIGHT”.

HBK extends his hand out to Benoit for a shake. As the crowd looks on in anticipation if Benoit will accept the challenge or not. Benoit shakes his hand and nods his head. Benoit brings the mic to his mouth. “I ACCEPT”. “Whatever” plays once again as Benoit and Michaels stare off with each other as JR and the King hype a huge World Title Match and hope it's approved by Eric Bischoff.

Back from commercial Eric Bischoff is in his office and announces that the World Title will be defended tonight. Chris Benoit versus Shawn Michaels. Bischoff says that the draft is exciting and promises to draft the best roster possible this Saturday and can’t wait to wipe the floor with Smackdown.

Camera goes to ringside as Hurricane and Rosey are in the ring as “Eye of the Hurricane” is playing. Both men are staring at the stage awaiting their opponents in the first match of the final Raw before the draft.

“Final Force” hits as the trio of frenchman appear on the stage area to major heat. Accompanied by Sylvain Grenier waving the red, white and blue Tricolor of France, Rene Dupree and Rob Conway head towards the ring. After failing in their bid to become the World Tag Team Champions last night at WrestleMania, the trio look fired up to get back on track and back in the title hunt here tonight on RAW. Once in the ring, Dupree and the “French sympathizer” Conway talk down to the crowd whilst Grenier waves the French flag before the bell is rung.

TAG TEAM MATCH
LA RESISTANCE with Sylvain Grenier vs. THE SUPERHEROES

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: Hard fought match as the power of Rosey and the agility and speed of Hurricane help to counter the triple threat of La Resistance; Grenier is a constant menace at ringside throughout the match. Diving from high, Hurricane looks for the SUPERHERO SPLASH but Grenier, from the outside, drags Conway out of the way and Hurricane crashes and burns instead. Furious at Grenier’s actions, Rosey clambers through the ropes to the outside and chases after him. With the referee concentrating on Hurricane and Conway in the ring, Dupree is able to crouch behind the ring steps and jabs the flag pole into the stomach of Rosey as he chases Grenier. With Rosey down, Dupree leaps up in the corner and takes the tag from Conway before setting up Hurricane … DUPREE DRIVER! Dupree hooks the leg and the referee makes the 3 count!

WINNERS: LA RESISTANCE
via pinfall in 06:36

The La Resistance trio hightail it out of the ring and back off up the ramp looking pleased with themselves after picking up a fine win here tonight on RAW over the former World Tag Team Champions, The Superheroes. As Grenier waves the French flag, Rosey looks up in anger as he consoles Hurricane and explains what happened – replays show the controversial tactics employed by the Dupree – but the victory stands.

Cameras cut to inside Evolutions locker room, where Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista are having a chuckle with each other. Batista says that last night they proved that The Rock and Mick Foley were over the hill and that Evolution had truly passed them by. Flair lets out a “Woooooooo”, before admitting that both ‘The Legend Killer’, and ‘The Enforcer’ were awesome last night. Randy then states that he is very happy with last night but he has a special announcement he is gonna make live tonight that is gonna change his career, as he’s slowly cementing himself as a legend in this business, AND he’s still the best Intercontinental Champion of all time. Batista smirks and says Evolution will soon have all the gold after him and Ric Flair will win the World Tag Team Titles later tonight and whenever Triple H gets back he will be on top once again. Flair mentioned the WWE draft won’t tear apart Evolution.

WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
VICTORIA (c) vs. JAZZ

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: Jazz got early momentum by blindsiding the Women’s Champion before the bell rings. The Bell finally rings and Jazz continues to dominate. Throughout the rest of the contest, Jazz held a ground and pound style with Victoria really unable to gather any offense. Jazz goes up to the top rope but Victoria crotches her as Jazz lands on Victoria's shoulders in position for Victoria to hit the Widow's peak. Victoria with the cover and gets the 3 count.

WINNER: VICTORIA
via pinfall in 05:09 to retain the Women's Championship

Victoria fought hard and successfully retained the Women’s Championship. Victoria is handed the Women’s Championship and Victoria gets her hands raised in victory. All of a sudden…Molly Holly, who is wearing a hat over her head, clubs the back of Victoria.

Molly continues to pound away at Victoria and screams out in anger “YOU DID THIS TO ME”. Referencing Victoria shaving Molly Holly’s head last night at Wrestlemania XX. Molly drags Victoria off the mat … and smashes her in the face with the Women’s Championship that she got from the canvas below. As Molly stares out at the crowd, she is booed but a smile breaks out over her face now as she stands over the fallen Women’s Champion. Looking down on Victoria, Molly’s face resets to disgust as she places the title over the waist of the champion and walks out of the ring.

SINGLES MATCH
GOLDBERG vs. RICO

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: This match wasn’t much of a match as Goldberg speared Rico right as the bell rang. Goldberg picked up Rico from the mat and lifted him up and planted him with the Jackhammer for the three count.

WINNER: GOLDBERG
via pinfall in 0:18

Todd Grisham gets inside the ring with a mic as he has the luxury of interviewing Goldberg. Grisham asks Goldberg now that he beat Brock Lesnar last night at Wrestlemania, who’s next for Goldberg. Goldberg stares at Grisham angrily and then looks at the camera…..STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN…….YOU’RE NEXT!!!! Goldberg shoves the mic away and climbs through the ropes as JR and the King are stunned but JR says he isn’t surprised as Austin did stun Goldberg out of nowhere at Wrestlemania.

Tonight: Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels for the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

SQ2k0m5J1jL67CAn62U_X-HOX7X00WlvzQ6i8l0icXBVeD5rq0HjBgtYp52MjZ_PQpCktOcIdM1E-ThZZcVtY0aP36365DTtPkXgmJAqTOmsUcZufI7DUC8Yprr2Vflo9xBzNGiIcIrJ5vh3EQRnt5RlIEeDQi3dz2uePHAZDwagtd4Nx9qOxOPcJhfY

“Line in the Sand” rings out in the Continental Airlines arena as Randy Orton, dressed in a light blue button down shirt and black dress pants, makes his way down towards the ring arrogantly. JR and the King wonder what “impactful announcement” Orton plans on making tonight. As Orton steps through the ropes, he looks a million dollars and the boos seem to bounce off him as JR and King remind us that Orton, with Ric Flair and Batista, was successful last night in defeating two of the very best that there have ever been here in the WWE – Mick Foley and The Rock, the “Rock and Sock Connection – at WrestleMania. As Orton steps up onto the ropes in the corner and strikes his “Legend Killer” pose, the crowd jeer further but it appears that Orton’s star is rocketing towards the heavens right now. Taking a microphone, Orton addresses the crowd and reminds them that he promised to end Mick Foley at WrestleMania – and that is exactly what he did. A still replay is shown of Orton giving Foley an RKO at Wrestlemania.

After the replay, Orton continues to look smug and declares that Mick Foley is just another in a long line of legends that he has defeated and will continue to defeat. Orton raises the Intercontinental Championship with one arm. Orton says he is the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time and is the future of the WWE. He is out here tonight to lay the ultimate challenge to a certain legend himself. Randy Orton looks into the camera and says venomously….I WANT THE ROCK!!!! The crowd cheers the mention of Rock as they chant “Rocky” over and over. “Last night at Wrestlemania I pinned Mick Foley, but now I want to add another feather to my cap. I want the honor of ending The Rock's Career.” Orton invites the Rock to Raw next week and wants an answer in person.

SINGLES MATCH
CHRIS JERICHO vs. MATT HARDY

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: With the blood pumping, Jericho makes a fast start and looks to take it out on Matt Hardy. For the majority of the opening stages, Jericho takes out his frustrations on Hardy and looks to be in complete control as he slams him down on the mat and looks to set up for the Lionsault. However, to Jericho’s clear annoyance … “My Peeps” hits as Christian and Trish Stratus arm in arm stand on the stage area. Jericho pauses and focuses on Christian and Trish as both start kissing. Jericho gets angry but gives Hardy enough time to recover and nails Jericho with a big boot. Hardy continues to dominate as we head to a commercial break.

When RAW returns, Hardy has retained control although images show us that Jericho did attempt to launch a comeback only for Christian, who has crept closer to the ring now as Trish is still up on the stage, to threaten to enter the ring. This distraction allowed Hardy to hit a SIDE EFFECT and regain the advantage and he now looks in complete control. After slamming Jericho to the mat, Matt Hardy looks for the twist of fate to put an end to this match. However, Jericho has enough about him to push Hardy as he is about to hit the twist of fate. Jericho hits a DDT buying some time. LIONSAULT! Jericho hits the Lionsault and then, after a glance at Christian and Trish who joins Christian, he locks in the WALLS OF JERICHO! With Christian and Trish directly in his sights, Jericho holds Hardy in the submission move … until he taps out and Jericho has, despite the distractions, scored an impressive victory here tonight.

WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO
via submission in 11:45

As Jericho lets go of the hold his attention turns to Christian and Trish. Jericho dares Christian to “be a man” and “come and fight”, Trish has a mic and says that she screwed him, before Jericho could screw her. She talks about how this all started out as a bet that Jericho made a couple of months ago, he thought she was easy. Now all that time Jericho was mad about her and she was never interested in him. She wanted a real man and that’s Christian. Christian knows how to treat a woman right and Jericho is not her type. He is not in Christian's league. She's now going to take Christian straight to the top as World Heavyweight Champion. Christian grabs the mic now and says Trish is right, he will be World Heavyweight Champion soon enough. He transitions to saying Trish didn't want an assclown like Jericho, she wanted a real man, someone rough and dirty like Christian. He proved last night he is better than Jericho by beating him and also getting Trish. The crowd starts a CLB chant and Trish tells them to shut up and tells all the women that they are jealous of her. Christian says all men are jealous of him because he has Trish. They are all losers like Chris Jericho.

Christian thinks it's better if himself and Jericho are drafted to separate brands because he doesn't want to mess with Christian. He brags about Jericho not getting any Stratusfaction. Christian and Trish are about to make out when they're interrupted by Jericho who runs down and takes down Christian. Jericho hammers away with rights and lefts as Y2J can’t control himself. Trish tries to attack him but Jericho grabs her by the hair with the crowd going nuts. Jericho takes her down and puts her in the walls of Jericho but Christian attacks Jericho from behind with a steel chair. Trish instructs Christian to hit the unprettier on the chair. Christian then drops Jericho with the unprettier on the chair. Trish taunts Jericho. Trish and Christian make out and stand tall over a motionless Jericho. Trish and Christian leave to huge heat.

SINGLES MATCH
SPIKE DUDLEY vs. KANE

Summary of the Match: Spike, who is much smaller in size, uses his speed and agility to duck a clothesline from a charging Kane. Irritated, Kane continues in an aggressive manner towards the little man. Spike dodges a splash attempt in the corner and Kane hits the turnbuckle hard. Spike charges Kane and hits a shoulder to the gut. Spike goes for another but Kane decapitates Spike Dudley with a Big Boot! Gritting his teeth, “The Big Red Machine” goozles Spike with his gloved right hand, pulling the littlest Dudley off the mat, to the sky… and down with A THUNDEROUS CHOKESLAM! That’s all she wrote as Kane simply places his hand on Spike’s chest for the one, two, and three!

WINNER: KANE
via pinfall in 1:21

Pushing the referee away, Kane grabs Spike by the throat off the ground to his feet. Kane lifts Spike and hits ANOTHER CHOKESLAM!!!! Kane obviously angered by losing to the Undertaker last night at Wrestlemania. Taking his frustrations out on Spike Dudley tonight.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
SHAWN MICHAELS vs. CHRIS BENOIT (c)

Summary of the Match: Michaels and Benoit circle each other to start as the crowd is heavily anticipating this matchup. They then come closer and grapple. Both men start shoving one another as tensions rise. HBK manages to land a clean punch. Benoit follows up and lands some chops, they then start rolling around in head locks and leg scissors. HBK off the ropes, shoulder block on Benoit. HBK with a headlock takedown. Benoit in the corner, puts the boot into HBK’s face. HBK off the ropes, huge back body drop, and Benoit then clotheslines HBK over the top rope. HBK back in, both off the ropes, and they knock heads. Both back up, punches are thrown, and HBK comes off the ropes with a diving forearm. HBK goes for a clothesline, and Benoit tries to lock on the Crossface but HBK swiftly grabs the ropes and goes to the outside of the ring to regroup as Raw goes to commercial break.

We come back and HBK has Benoit in an abdominal stretch. A replay is shown during the commercial shows us that HBK has been working on Benoit’s lower back. Benoit fights out with a hip toss, but HBK gets back up and nails a huge vertical suplex for 2. HBK then knees into Benoit’s lower back. HBK then tosses Benoit into the corner hard for 2. HBK then with a back suplex for 2. Benoit off the ropes, HBK lowers his head, and Benoit grabs him into a small package for 2. Back slide for 2, Oklahoma roll-up for 2. HBK back up, atomic drop. HBK with a scoop slam, then goes up for the elbow and connects. HBK then lines up for Sweet Chin Music, but Benoit ducks, and nails the Trifecta of Germans, and calls for the Swandive. HBK tries to get back up, and Benoit nails another German, and goes up, but misses on the Swandive. Both men are down for a 10 count. HBK rolls over on Benoit for a 2 count. HBK goes up to the top again, but Benoit intercepts him, and crotches HBK. Benoit chops and stomps away, and HBK is on the apron. Benoit then attempts to bring HBK back in with a suplex, but HBK nails a suplex on Benoit to the outside. HBK then goes up to the top, and nails a moonsault on Benoit, on the floor!! HBK tries to get back in the ring, but Benoit pulls him back down, and Benoit goes to whip HBK into the steps, but HBK reverses, and Benoit goes knee first into the steps.

We come back from break, and HBK has Benoit in a sleeper, but Benoit suplex’s out. HBK with a dropkick for 2. Benoit what a German with a bridge for 2. Both men up, they go chop for chop, and Benoit chops HBK to the ropes, but HBK reverses, and takes down Benoit and locks on a Boston Crab. Benoit finally gets to the ropes. HBK then hits an elbow to the back. The crowd is on their feet. Benoit reverses a whip, and HBK goes upside down on the turnbuckle, and Benoit hops on him and locks on the Crippler Crossface. HBK hooks his feet on the bottom rope, Benoit lets him, and locks on the Crossface again, and again HBK gets the ropes. HBK goes for the superkick, but Benoit catches it and goes for the Sharpshooter. HBK gets to the ropes before Benoit can lock it on, and Benoit pulls HBK back in the middle, and goes to lock on the Sharpshooter again, but HBK kicks out, and Benoit hits the ref. All 3 men down, and HBK is the first back up, and Benoit soon follows. HBK then quickly nails a superkick, but the ref is still down. HBK covers Benoit, but HHH runs in and nails HBK with a Pedigree, and then hops the barricade and runs to the back. Benoit then drapes an arm over HBK and the pinfall is counted.

WINNER:
CHRIS BENOIT
via pinfall in 17:24 to retain the World Heavyweight Championship

Chris Benoit is handed the World Heavyweight Championship as Michaels remains down as Raw goes off the air.

Really intrigued to see how you go with the draft. Obviously a chance to really shake things up and make the rosters fresh, and set up new angles. Draft Special on a Saturday sounds fun too.

I was surprised you set up Michaels/Benoit in the opening promo. Surprised in the sense that you set it up for the main event and it wasn't a match hyped for a future show. Feels like a big match to give away on free TV with no hype. I get continuing the potential Triple H/HBK issues, however if I'm honest, I don't like Benoit basically needing interference to help him with his first title defense. Not the greatest start in the world for the new champ.

The Berg wanting to chase Austin after the Stunner last night makes sense. A dream match that you probably need to make happen, although considering The Berg's made his intentions clear here, I'm wondering how you'll drag it out. I'm assuming a match of this level of star power is to big for Backlash.

Love Orton calling out The Rock. Not just because I'm a Rocky fan boy, but because it makes perfect sense to me. After pinning Foley at 'Mania, Orton wants to go after the other legend now. Most logical time for this dream match to happen, so really looking forward to Rocky's response.

Victoria/Molly and Jericho/Christian continuing after 'Mania just makes sense, obviously two very big things went down respectively in these feuds. Now we need to gauge the reaction of the all involved.

Thumbs up on having Kane look strong after looking awful at Mania. Might as well make him a monster again to get the most out of him.

Solid start here. Kind of awkward to have to do a week of shows before the draft, but I think you've started off well here. Good job.

Thanks Stojy for the review. I totally agree with the awkwardness of posting two shows before the draft but it's the best I could think of since I didn't want the draft to take place on the Raw after Mania. Also Saturday works perfect cause it will allow my build to Backlash to start immediately next week with a fresh roster and not having to waste a Monday with a draft.

THURSDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
Thursday March 18, 2004
Fleet Center
Boston, Massachusetts

Episode #240

”Mental” blasts in Boston as the General Manager Paul Heyman smugingly makes his way out to the stage as the crowd boos the life out of him as Heyman just stares and smiles waiting for the eruption in the Fleet Center to die down a bit. Heyman begins by announcing that a little birdie told him that Brock Lesnar has signed a NEW contract with World Wrestling Entertainment regardless of the rumors and Lesnar WILL be eligible to be drafted on Monday Night and hopes Lesnar will be on Smackdown come next Thursday Night. Heyman transitions into saying on Monday Night history will be made because the landscape of WWE and Thursday Night Smackdown will change forever. “But before we get to Monday we still have tonight.” Heyman says he is making tonight a Smackdown NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS! Where every championship will be defended. Heyman lists the matches and they show up in match graphics;

  • Cruiserweight Championship Battle Royal
  • WWE Tag Team Championships Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty [c] vs. APA
  • United States Championship John Cena [c] vs. The Big Show
  • WWE Championship Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle II

The crowd gives Heyman some credit and cheer on the matches announced. Heyman doesn’t waste any time and says the first match will be for the WWE Tag Team Championships. “Protection” hits as the challengers Bradshaw and Farooq pass Heyman as the GM waltzes to the back as the APA make their way to the ring to a decent ovation. These men are looking to avenge not winning the WWE Tag Team Championships last Sunday in the Fatal Four Way match. “Turn it up” rings out as the current WWE Tag Team Champions, Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty make their way to the ring as they look ecstatic as they successfully retained the titles last Sunday at Wrestlemania. Both men walk through the ropes and pose for the crowd as Bradshaw and Farooq look on. Scotty and Rikishi hand the Tag Team gold to the ref and the ref raises the titles high in the air as the bell rings and this title match is underway

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
RIKISHI & SCOTTY 2 HOTTY (c) vs. A.P.A.

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: Quick start as both teams look to get the upper hand in the early part of the contest but it soon settles down into a power contest between Rikishi and both members of the A.P.A. which Bradshaw and Faarooq get the upper hand over. In control, the A.P.A. look to wear down Rikishi and frustrate Scotty who is waiting for a tag on the outside but cannot reach his partner to make one. With more experience as a team, Faarooq and Bradshaw cut the ring off and even when Rikishi attempts to fight back, they are able to make a quick tag and get control back in the contest. Interestingly, the desperation to be Tag Team Champions appears to bring out the darker side of Bradshaw as he catches Scotty with a right hand to deny him a tag opportunity which generates a little booing for him. However, with the Tag Team Championships on the line, it is maybe understandable as Cole and Tazz debate the tactics of Bradshaw.

The hot tag finally comes when Rikishi hits a Samoan Drop to Faarooq. As Bradshaw holds his head in his hands, Rikishi crawls over towards Scotty and Bradshaw is tagged in by Faarooq … but he is too late to stop Rikishi tagging in Scotty! Looking for revenge after Bradshaw clocked him earlier, Scotty uses his speed and agility to ground the big men on the challenger team. Unfortunately, this momentum is curtailed when Bradshaw avoids Scotty’s drop kick and hits a DDT instead that swings the momentum back to the challengers. Now, Scotty is the one targeted but he kicks out every time he is pinned down and somehow takes the punishment being dished out by Bradshaw and Faarooq. However, Scotty finally hits the drop kick he wanted earlier and takes down Bradshaw who stumbles and makes the tag to Faarooq. Entering the ring, Faarooq grabs Scotty but his clothesline misses and Scotty again hits a drop kick before crashing Faarooq down face first. As Scotty prepares for the Worm, the crowd get to their feet and Rikishi, back on his feet, leads the encouragement. W … O … R … M … Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! SCOTTY HITS THE WORM ON FAAROOQ! The tag is made to Rikishi and he slams Faarooq down in the corner before climbing to the middle rope … BANZAI DROP! Bradshaw watches from the corner helplessly as the referee makes the 3 count … and the Tag Team Champions retain their gold!

WINNERS: Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty
via pinfall in 08:24 to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships

Huge win for Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty as they survive the challenge of one of the most experienced and brutal teams the WWE has to offer here tonight. They celebrate their victory and hold their title belts high as they back off up the aisle but there is another development here in the ring as Bradshaw looks down on Faarooq shaking his head. What is this all about? CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL! Bradshaw smashes his long term partner with his Clothesline from Hell and stands over him as the crowd jeer their disapproval. Bradshaw points a finger at Faarooq and yells out that he has held him back for far too long before dragging him back to his feet … CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL AGAIN! Boos ring around the Fleet Center, what is happening to Bradshaw right now? A look of intense dislike in his eyes, Bradshaw heads out of the ring and grabs a steel chair now before getting back into the ring and punishing the hell out of Faarooq! Over and over, he smashes the chair over Faarooq’s back and drives it into his ribs until Faarooq, beaten to a pulp, is coughing up blood and WWE officials finally put a stop to the madness! Boos ring out as Bradshaw exits with a look of disappointment on his face here. Is this the end of the A.P.A. here in the WWE?

SMACKDOWN returns with footage of Faarooq being helped out of the ring on a stretcher; Michael Cole and Tazz remain in shock over what they just witnessed here tonight and replays of Bradshaw’s horrific attack on his partner are shown before we head backstage to Terri who is now interviewing Big Show. She asks Show for his thoughts on tonight’s United States Championship rematch against John Cena and whether or not he believes Cena’s home crowd advantage will impact. Show laughs off this suggestion, he says that during 2004, he has been dominant so far and has destroyed every single person he has faced in the ring – except for Sunday night at WrestleMania and John Cena. Show suggests that he underestimated Cena on Sunday and that being in Cena’s home state is perfect for him tonight as it will ensure that he hits the ring at 100%. “Lightning doesn’t strike twice,” Show tells Terri, “I’m getting my title back tonight!”

“Basic Thuganomics” plays to a huge ovation as the new United States Champion makes his way out in front of his home fans with a huge grin on his face and looks to be unruffled by the words of Big Show as he makes his way down towards the ring. With the Boston crowd on their feet, Cena slides into the ring with the US Championship wrapped around his shoulder and poses in the corner holding it high before taking the microphone. With his green Boston Celtics vest over his jean shorts, Cena begins to rap and includes such topics as the WWE Draft this Saturday, making Boston proud, being the new United States Champion, defeating the “giant ape” for a second time tonight. Cena puts the mic down as well as his chains. He hands the US title to the ref as “BIG '' blasts through the airwaves as the mass of humanity and former United States Champion, The Big Show marches his way to the ring seeking retribution after last Sunday’s Wrestlemania loss to John Cena. Climbing over the top rope with ease, Show gets right into Cena’s face and, to his credit, the champion refuses to back off and stands up to the challenge.

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
JOHN CENA (c) vs. BIG SHOW

Big Show looks determinedly at Cena who smirks across the ring at his challenger as if taunting him over his loss at WrestleMania. This proves not to be a good idea though as Show dominates the early stages and uses his power and strength to take Cena down and keep him there. The crowd are fully behind the plucky champion but Show keeps him down as SMACKDOWN heads into a commercial break with the United States Championship in real jeopardy …

When SMACKDOWN returns, footage is shown of Show continuing his dominance of the US Champion here tonight as he punishes Cena around the outside of the ring. Smashing him back into the barricades, Show slams Cena down on the mats and reacts angrily to some fans as they give him grief at ringside. With his face looking angry, Show looks to punish Cena even further as the live cameras return; he rams Cena shoulder first into the ring post before tossing him back into the ring. Things are looking bleak for Cena as the crowd attempt to rally behind him again with a “Cena! Cena!” chant but Show, for the first time, smirks as he prepares to take Cena down once and for all. To the delight of the crowd, Cena fights back though as Show attempts the Chokeslam; he throws a barrage of right hands to the challenger instead and staggers Show back against the ropes.

As the fight evens out a little more, Cena and Show slug it out and it heads towards completion with the title in the balance. Cena looks to lift Show into the FU but he cannot lift the 500 pound Giant and sinks to his knees instead. CHOKESLAM! Out of nowhere, Big Show choke slams Cena down to the mat and the crowd look on in horror as Show covers Cena to win the title; 1 … 2 … 3! NO! Cena kicks out at the last moment to the amazement of the fans and particularly Show! Angrily, Show rips his singlet down to his waist and sets himself again ready to hit the Chokeslam once again. As Cena staggers up, Show grabs him by the throat again but Cena, desperately trying to retain his title, fights back and shoves Show away. As Show is shoved aside, his elbow collides with the referee’s head and knocks him backwards to the mat. As Show looks down at the referee, this gives Cena the momentary lapse he needs. Ducking down in the corner, Cena grabs the chain and, for the second United States Championship match in a row, he clocks Big Show in the side of the head with the chain! As the crowd cheers this, Cena again attempts to lift Big Show onto his shoulders … FU! CENA HITS THE FU! As the referee, clutching the side of his head, turns back around and sees Cena covering the Giant … 1 … 2 … 3! Cena retains the United States Championship here tonight!

WINNER: John Cena
via pinfall in 15:22 to retain the United States Championship

As the crowd pops for Cena picking up the victory here tonight, the United States Champion grabs his title and slides out of the ring to celebrate with the fans at ringside here tonight. Coming to his senses, Show looks furious as he realises that he has been screwed out of the United States title by Cena once again through use of the chain. Laughing, Cena holds his United States title high as the crowd mob around him and he taunts Big Show who grabs the referee in frustration. However, the referee escapes and leaves Show yelling angrily in the ring whilst Cena exits up the ramp taking in the adulation of the home state crowd. A huge win for Cena here tonight as he retains the US Championship in his first defense but what next for the “Doctor of Thuganomics” moving forward? A graphic appears as the Undertaker is in action NEXT on Smackdown!!

WWE DRAFT AD

We see Hardcore Holly inside the ring getting set for action.

As Paul Bearer leads The Undertaker, who extended his WrestleMania streak to 12-0 last Sunday when he defeated Kane, towards the ring, the crowd held their lights up from their phones. As the Deadman slowly makes his way towards the ring, he turns and steps up onto the steel steps and raises his arms to bring back the lights to a huge pop from the crowd before stepping through the ropes. Removing his hat and coat, Undertaker hands them to Paul Bearer before turning to face his opponent here tonight, Hardcore Holly. Delighted with his return, the crowd chants “Un-der-ta-ker!” as the bell rings.

SINGLES MATCH
THE UNDERTAKER vs. HARDCORE HOLLY

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: For the opening minutes, the two men right hands Undertaker takes advantage with shot after shot as the deadman is looking strong as the crowd is behind the Undertaker. Undertaker goes for an early chokeslam but Holly escapes and goes on the offense for a minute or so as Holly is trying to bring Taker down to size. Holly goes for an irish whip to the corner but Taker reverses and whips Holly into the corner. Taker charges and hits a devastating clothesline knocking Holly for a loop. Taker grabs Holly in tombstone position but hits snake eyes bouncing Holly off the turnbuckle face first. Taker off the ropes and bounces back with a huge big boot. Taker goozles Holly with a huge chokeslam and then lifts Holly up for a tombstone for the win.

WINNER: The Undertaker
via PINFALL in 04:37

A successful Smackdown return here tonight for The Undertaker and he strikes his pose in the ring as Paul Bearer glorifies his victory here tonight. After defeating Kane at WrestleMania, Michael Cole and Tazz wonder and hope the Undertaker stays on Smackdown. With the draft coming up Undertaker could be on the move.

SQ2k0m5J1jL67CAn62U_X-HOX7X00WlvzQ6i8l0icXBVeD5rq0HjBgtYp52MjZ_PQpCktOcIdM1E-ThZZcVtY0aP36365DTtPkXgmJAqTOmsUcZufI7DUC8Yprr2Vflo9xBzNGiIcIrJ5vh3EQRnt5RlIEeDQi3dz2uePHAZDwagtd4Nx9qOxOPcJhfY

When SMACKDOWN returns, Michael Cole and Tazz recap the earlier shocking events that followed the A.P.A. and their loss to Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty earlier tonight when Bradshaw, frustrated with how things turned out, attacked his long term partner Faarooq. We are shown exclusive footage of Bradshaw watching backstage as Faarooq is loaded into an ambulance with clear injuries sustained from Bradshaw’s attack on him earlier tonight. Cole reports that Faarooq has suffered cracked ribs as well as a concussion and that Terri Runnels attempted to get a word from Bradshaw afterwards. She asks Bradshaw for his reasoning behind the attack but Bradshaw refuses to divulge his reasons; instead, he simply says that it has been almost three years since the A.P.A. last won the Tag Team Championships and that it was simply time to accept that they are simply not a force in the Tag Team division any more. When Terri presses Bradshaw further, he tells her that he is sick of being held back here in the WWE and thought of as a Tag Team competitor. “In the coming weeks and months, Whether I land on RAW or Smackdown, I'm putting both locker rooms on notice. The era of Bradshaw is beginning and I will be a future World Champion.”

Back ringside we see a handful of cruiserweight competitors in the ring getting ready for the battle royal to determine the rightful Cruiserweight champion. “Booyaka” plays as Rey Mysterio pops out of the stage area and heads towards the ring to much delight from the crowd. Mysterio gets into the ring along with his other competitors as everyone awaits the Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero. “Chavo Adriente” hits as the Cruiserweight Champion who was successful in defending his title in a Cruiserweight Open at Wrestlemania will have another obstacle to overcome. An over the top rope battle royal for the prestigious gold. Chavo Sr. accompanies his son Chavo and the champion walks through the ropes and taunts each man in the ring by holding up the gold as the ref takes it and we are set to start this Battle Royal on Smackdown night of champions!!!

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: Early on in this matchup there are quick eliminations in this one as the field is whittled down to just four men remaining by the 3:00 mark – these four men are Mysterio, Tajiri, Kidman and Chavo. As they pair off, Mysterio and Chavo fight in one corner whilst Tajiri and Kidman do battle in the opposite corner.

Later in the matchup, Tajiri and Kidman both eliminated one another after Kidamn hit a charging crossbody block when Tajiri was leaning on the ropes and Kidman’s momentum took him over the top and to the floor. The final two are set, Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio as most fans probably have predicted. Chavo and Rey manage to pull out all the spots and have a good 3 or so minutes of back and forth action. Chavo Sr. gets on the apron to try and distract Mysterio. Mysterio dropkicks the legs of Chavo Sr. as Chavo Sr. goes down to the floor. Chavo charges, Rey Mysterio hits a drop toe hold. 619…..CONNECTS!!! Rey set up on the apron goes to leap but CHAVO SR. grabs Rey's leg and pulls him to the outside to the floor leading to a Chavo Guerrero retaining the title.

WINNER: Chavo Guerrero
via over the top rope in 9:23 to retain the Cruiserweight Championship

~”VIVA LA RAZA!”~

The Boston fans stand all at once, roaring in approval as Eddie Guerrero steps out from behind the curtain! A nice YELLOW low rider enters from the side of the arena towards the stage area. Still clad in his ADDICTED TO THE HEAT shirt over green and gold gear, Eddie slaps his chest, shimmies and plays to his adoring public as “Viva La Raza” booms over the sound system. After slapping the hands of his most ardent supporters, the beloved WWE Champion steps through the ropes and waits for the arrival of his challenger. Cole and Tazz discuss Guerrero cheating to defeat Kurt Angle last sunday at Wrestlemania and wonder if Angle has learned anything from their contest at Mania.

After a second of silence, “Medal” hits and Kurt Angle emerges from the back with a steely look in his eyes. Although he sets off his quartet of vibrant fireworks, that’s about the end of the theatrics for the patriot. Attired in a glorious red, white, navy blue, and gold camouflage singlet, “The American Hero” barely blinks as he advances down the ramp.

Once both participants have prepared themselves for this championship encounter, senior official Nick Patrick displays the gorgeous WWE Title belt for all to see before calling for the bell…

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
EDDIE GUERRERO (c) vs. KURT ANGLE

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: Angle and Guerrero stare down each other as these world class athletes set to face off in a huge WWE Championship Wrestlemania XX rematch. They jostle a bit at the start as a “Let’s Go Eddie”chant starts up. Eddie comes back with a side headlock twisting at the skull of Angle trying to out wrestle an olympic gold medalist. Eddie gets a hammerlock until Angle turns him around. Angle hits a German suplex on Eddie, then another, but Eddie ends up countering it with an ankle lock. Angle rolls through, breaking it with the thumb to the eyes. He gets an Angle Slam to follow. Down go the straps for Angle. Angle with an ankle lock, then Eddie grabs Kurt’s ankle only to have Angle roll through and now has Eddie in the ankle lock right in the center. Eddie makes ropes. Luther Reigns drills Eddie with a kick to the back of the head as Angle puts on another ankle lock. Guerrero makes ropes, Angle eats some chops from Eddie only to reach for the ankle again. Crowd is fairly silent because of the slow pace here. Eddie gouges his eyes to get out of it. Eddie’s boot is unlaced as it was for WrestleMania and now Angle is holding him in an STF like position. Eddie gets a jawbreaker, ducks a clothesline and hits an Angle slam.

To their feet, Eddie fights back with punches, then tries to make his ankle feel better. He hits the three rolling vertical suplexes, then heads to the top slowly. Angle catches him and throws him off with the belly to belly from the top. Angle slam countered a DDT for Guerrero. Eddie to the top again, Eddie’s Frog Splash misses and an Angle Slam for Angle gets two. Angle took off Eddie’s boot and grabbed Eddie’s left ankle in the ankle lock position. Eddie grabbed the ref by the foot and sent him into Angle. Eddie drills Angle with the boot. Ref wakes up, so Eddie plays possum as he usually does. Guerrero pops up, and goes up to the top rope and hits a FROG SPLASH!!!! Guerrero pins for the three count.

WINNER: Eddie Guerrero
via pinfall in 13:12 to retain the WWE Championship

As “Viva La Raza” begins again and thousands of Bostonians unite to happily celebrate, Eddie Guerrero stumbles to his feet. His footing still less than stellar because of the damage done to his ankle, the El Paso luchador still pleases the crowd with a shimmy.

Kurt Angle yells at the ref about Eddie’s tactics and hitting him with the boot as Angle is throwing a tantrum in the ring. Cole and Tazz bring up the possibility of Angle and Guerrero on different brands and is this the last time we will see these two incredible athletes face off. Smackdown goes off the air as Latino Heat holds the WWE Title over his head.

Caught up with your first two shows and liked them a lot. Some notes:

- Not sure how I feel about Benoit being so prominent. I understand that he's the Champion. I'm sure that feeling will wear off of me though as we go along.
- Big fan of Evolution, and Orton calling out the Rock. Ric saying that the draft won't separate them kind of scares me though!
- Goldberg and Stone Cold sounds fun. Hopefully the build lasts a little while like another poster mentioned. Seems too big for just Backlash.
- One of my favorite things about reading this was learning about what was going on. I started watching wrestling in 2005, so while I know all of these names, I'm not particularly informed as to what they were doing at this time. Like the Molly Holly and Victoria feud, or whatever is going on with Christian and Trish Stratus. But I like it!
- Like someone else mentioned, Chris probably should have won cleanly without the help of Triple H, but I like continuing HHH and HBK's story so it achieves what it needed to!

- Liked JBL's turn on Farooq and his callout to whichever brand he'll be on. I may not like him in real life, but he's a great talent and character so I'm excited to see what you do with him.
- Loved Big Show's line about lightning not striking twice, but Cena retaining is obviously the right move. Hopefully you have more for Show in the future.
- Undertaker being dominant as always. Love it.
- Great main event. Eddie doing what Eddie does.

I'm excited to see how the brands shake up. I feel like they were very distinct during this time, so I'd like to see something like Eddie or Taker on Raw, or Evolution on Smackdown. Could be fun. Look forward to reading more!

WWE DRAFT SPECIAL 3.20.04

The WWE Signature airs. We go live inside WWE Headquarters as the Draft is being held inside one of the rooms where all the superstars as Vince McMahon is facing the camera. Vince welcomes the TV audience to the WWE Draft and “tonight is where it all begins again.” Tonight, history is made, where the landscape of WWE will change forever. New rivalries, superstars appearing on new brands, fresh starts for some and career revitalization for others.” He says that General Managers Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman are both in separate Headquarters with their assistants getting ready for tonight's draft. Vince announces the rules as they show up on the screen in a graphic.
  • Tag teams count as one pick unless a commissioner/general manager specifically only wants a single member from the team as their pick.
  • The first draft pick will be determined by a coin flip. It will be a snake draft example Raw 1, Smackdown 2, 3, Raw 4, 5, Smackdown 6,7 etc.
  • There will be 20 overall picks tonight on Raw (10 to Raw, 10 to Smackdown) There will be a supplemental draft which will take place over on wwe.com after the show also picked by each GM.

Vince takes out the coin. One side it has the WWE logo which Vince says is heads and on the other it has WWE Draft and the date which is tails. Raw and Smackdown each have representatives who are wearing their brands' respective colors next to Vince who call it in the air. Raw selects HEADS meaning Smackdown gets tails by default. Vince tosses the coin…..

Back to Eric Bischoff who is at the podium. Bischoff wants the momentum to continue for Raw and selects

Benoit says Smackdown is very familiar to him as he was there before he came to Raw in January this year. Benoit said he is excited to bring the World Heavyweight Championship to Smackdown and promises to be a fighting champion and bring Smackdown to new heights.

Mathews tosses it to Todd Grisham who is with WWE Champion and newest member of Raw, Eddie Guerrero. Grisham welcomes Guerrero to Monday Night Raw and asks what he will bring to the red brand. Eddie laughs and says he will bring legitimacy to Raw along with his latino heat and the WWE Championship to Raw and kisses the title. Eddie welcomes any and all challengers for this title and he will fight like hell to keep it just like he fought like hell to get it.

Orton mocks Cena by doing the “You can’t see me” pose saying that he doesn’t need any catch phrase to become relevant he is the best damn worker in this business and plans to take the A show to new heights and that starts with calling out the Rock this Monday Night on Raw.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW
Monday March 22, 2004
Joe Louis Arena
Detroit, MI

Episode #565

Following the WWE signature opening, we cut directly to Eric Bischoff who is standing in the middle of the ring as “I’m Back” plays over the boo’s of the Detroit crowd. The man doesn’t get an introduction from Liliian Garcia and he doesn’t need one, says the King on commentary. Bischoff begins the evening by saying how Raw stole the draft and is by far the better show. Bischoff then says he is here not to brag but to make a huge announcement in regards to Raw's next pay-per-view, Backlash. He announces that the WWE Champion, Eddie Guerrero will defend the WWE Championship at Backlash in a 6-MAN HELL IN A CELL MATCH!!! The fans pop for the announcement even though they loathe the general manager of Raw. Bischoff says he has handpicked the 5 other men that will be in the match alongside Guerrero and they are………

Triple H

Booker T

Brock Lesnar

Shawn Michaels

The Big Show

“The first man to gain pinfall or submission wins the match” Bischoff adds. A huge tag team main event for Raw is made as well. Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels will team up to take on The Big Show and Brock Lesnar, but kicking off the night will be Booker T taking on……”The Game” by motorhead blasts as Triple H makes his way towards the ring as JR and the King discuss the huge news that the GM just broke. As JR put it, “6 men, 1 title, its gonna be hell on earth for these 6 men. I'll tell ya that king”. Triple H gets inside of the ring as Bischoff leaves. Triple H spits his water as usual as the crowd is booing the game hard. Commentary mentions that the last time we saw Triple H was at Wrestlemania XX when he tapped out to Chris Benoit and lost the World Heavyweight Championship. “Can You Dig It Sucka” plays as another competitor in the Hell in a Cell WWE title match, Booker T makes his way out to the ring as he motions to Triple H that the WWE Championship is his. JR mentions if Booker T losing to Triple H at Wrestlemania 19 will play a role in this matchup, if it gets in his head. The King said it might be because of the grand stage and all the eyeballs Wrestemania XIX had on it. “Everyone saw Booker T lose that night to Triple H. And I believe he still hasn’t forgotten about it”. JR says Booker T needs to focus on one goal and that is defeating his old nemesis Triple H and gaining momentum for Backlash and the brutality that is Hell in a Cell. Booker T and Triple H meet up in the center of the ring as the bell is rung.

SINGLES MATCH
BOOKER T vs. TRIPLE H

Summary of the Match: In the early going of the matchup right from the bell, Booker T went to work on Triple H as he didn’t let the Game gather any momentum. Triple H however raked the eyes of Booker behind the ref's back and took control of the match. Triple H removed the padding on the turnbuckle during the match unknown to the ref as he was dealing with checking on Booker T. Later on in the contest, Booker countered a pedigree into a bookend for the 2 count. Booker went for a scissors kick but Triple H moved and kicked Booker and went for the pedigree but Booker countered and went for another Bookend but Triple H shoved Booker into the exposed turnbuckle hard. Triple H hits the pedigree for the win.

WINNER: TRIPLE H
via pinfall in 9:21

Triple H grabs the mic from outside of the ring and says Wrestlemania was a fluke and Benoit is lucky he is on Smackdown or else he would take back the World Heavyweight Championship, but adds that the WWE Championship is just as good and warns all the competitors inside the Hell in a Cell that they don’t know what he is capable of and gives a message to Eddie Guerrero that he runs Raw and that title is gonna be his at Backlash so keep it warm for him. He finishes by saying he is gonna watch the main event tag team match very closely. Triple H tosses the mic and then pedigrees Booker T AGAIN!!!!

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Eric Bischoff is backstage in his office with the World Tag Team titles held in a clear case next to his desk. He explains that since RVD and Booker T are no longer on Raw that the World Tag Team Championships are vacant. He comes up with a solution that NEXT WEEK on Raw there will be a Fatal Four Way Ladder Match to crown the NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!! The teams are shown on a graphic:

The Basham Brothers

La Resistance

WGGT

BATISTA & RIC FLAIR

Back at ringside Steven Richards is shown in the ring getting set for action.

SINGLES MATCH
BATISTA vs. STEVEN RICHARDS

Summary of the Match: Speaking of Batista, this serves as a warmup of sorts for next weeks huge ladder match. Ric Flair is right by his side as Batista makes quick work of Richards as he hits a clothesline, then a spinebuster and then a devastating Batista Bomb.

WINNER: BATISTA
via pinfall in 2:35

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Back from break and we see Batista and Ric Flair laughing as Todd Grisham gets an interview. He asks them if they are ready for the ladder match next week. Flair says they shouldn’t have lost the World Tag Titles in the first place so this match shouldn’t be happening. Batista chimes in and says regardless we are gonna run through every team and then we are gonna climb the ladder and grab the World Tag Team titles end of story. Batista rubs shoulders with Grisham as Evolution walks away.

MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
RICO & STACY KIEBLER vs. CHRISTIAN & TRISH STRATUS

Summary of the Match: Christian and Trish Stratus dominate a majority of the matchup as Rico got blindsided by Christian during his entrance. Stratus and Kiebler go at each other outside of the ring while Christian handles business inside of the ring and hits Rico with the Unprettier to end the match and get the victory.

WINNERS: CHRISTIAN & TRISH STRATUS
via pinfall in 3:47

Christian and Trish continue to beatdown their opponents after the match. Trish rolls Stacy in the ring as Christian hits Rico with another Unprettier. Trish tosses Rico out of the ring as both Trish and Christian turn their attention inside the ring towards Stacy Keibler. Christian goes to grab Stacy by the hair as Stacy is screaming in agony and he sets her up with an Unprettier but Chris Jericho sprints down the ramp and into the ring and makes the save with a steel chair in hand. Christian and Trish escape as Jericho checks on Stacy. Christian and Trish makeout at the entrance ramp as Jericho looks on.

REPLAY: Last week Randy Orton calling out the Rock

GRAPHIC: UP NEXT RANDY ORTON INVITATION TO THE ROCK!! WILL THE ROCK SHOW UP??

COMMERCIAL BREAK

“Line in the Sand” hits and the Intercontinental Champion, Randy Orton makes his way to the ring to a heavy chorus of boos. No members of Evolution accompanying him. Orton has the Intercontinental championship around his shoulder as he has a huge grin on his face and is dressed to the nines with an undershirt and a nice looking jacket. Orton grabbed the mic and immediately cut to the chase and called out the Rock. The fans erupt in Rocky chants but nothing but silence as Orton looks on. Orton calls the Rock a coward just like Mick Foley. Orton goes on to say that he ended Mick Foley's career at Wrestlemania and now he wants to end the Rock’s career and send him to Hollywood permanently. “IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING” the arena erupts for the great one as the people's champion appears from behind the curtain and stares down Orton in the ring but soaks in the admiration from the crowd. The Rock steps inside the squared circle and climbs up the turnbuckle but Orton cuts him off and says to “cut the music, cut the s**t Rocky huh. Playing to all these cheap bastards. You are better than this.” The Rock rebuttals by asking Orton if he really thinks the fine people of Detroit are cheap bastards but before Orton can respond the Rock cuts him off and says “It doesn’t matter what you think.” Detroit chants “Rocky”, repeatedly as Orton is looking visibly frustrated. Orton tells the Rock to shut it and he wants to challenge the Rock to a match at Backlash. The Rock looks at the crowd as the crowd again chants “Rocky”. The Rock takes a moment but then accepts and says he has more ass kickings left in him and at Backlash he is fighting for his brother, Mick Foley and for every one of the MILLIONS “AND MILLIONS'' as the Rock went up to scream and millions Orton tried to hit an RKO out of nowhere but the Rock was ready and shoved Orton away. The Rock clotheslines Orton who was leaning on the ropes to the outside of the ring. A flustered Orton backs up the ramp as the date is set in stone. Backlash….April 11th, The Rock vs. Randy Orton.

Victoria is backstage as Eric Bischoff runs into her and makes a match for tonight, Victoria taking on Molly Holly and Jazz in a handicap match and if her opponents win then she will have to defend the Women’s Championship NEXT WEEK against both Molly Holly and Jazz. Victoria looks startled for a minute but then her theme plays and she heads out to the ring. As Victoria makes her entrance Raw heads to commercial.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

HANDICAP MATCH
*IF MOLLY HOLLY & JAZZ WIN THEN NEXT WEEK THEY THEY WILL BE IN A TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
MOLLY HOLLY & JAZZ vs. VICTORIA

Summary of the Match: Molly Holly and Jazz throughout the match used their numbers game to their advantage and it paid off as Holly rolled up Victoria and held on to Jazz’s hand as leverage who hid near the apron to get the win and a huge opportunity next week.

WINNERS: MOLLY HOLLY & JAZZ
via pinfall in 5:11

After the contest, Holly and Jazz’s hands are raised as both women look down at Victoria and then Jazz nails Molly Holly out of nowhere with a right hand forearm to the face. Jazz told her next week every woman for herself. Jazz lifts the Women’s Title and raises it over her head.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

SINGLES MATCH
REY MYSTERIO vs. ORLANDO JORDAN

Summary of the Match: In Rey Mysterio’s first match on Raw, it definitely didn’t disappoint as the high flying luchador put on a show for Detroit. Ultimately upstaging Orlando Jordan pinning him for the three after a beautifully executed 619.

WINNER: REY MYSTERIO
via pinfall in 7:23

Shawn Michaels is taping up his arm in the locker room and adjusting his boots as Eddie Guerrero walks into view as him and Michaels have a bit of a staredown. Guerrero tells Michaels to relax and that he just wanted to see if they both are on the same page before tonight's main event. HBK said he is on the same page with Guerrero but then says he is keeping an eye on Guerrero because he knows what he stands for. “Lying, cheating and stealing”. HBK said he plans on taking the WWE Championship at Backlash and finishes by tapping the title three times and telling Guerrero “I'll see ya out there champ”.

GRAPHIC: UP NEXT TAG TEAM MATCH EDDIE GUERRERO & SHAWN MICHAELS vs. BROCK LESNAR & THE BIG SHOW

COMMERCIAL BREAK

TAG TEAM MATCH
WWE CHAMPION EDDIE GUERRERO & SHAWN MICHAELS vs. BROCK LESNAR & THE BIG SHOW

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH: It’s main event time and what a match we were given tonight on Raw. Both teams opened the match with a fierce staredown as Guerrero nose to nose with Lesnar as Michaels is face to face with the goliath, Big Show. The bell rings and all hell breaks loose as both teams throw hands. Lesnar and Show throw Guerrero and HBK out of the ring. Lesnar and Show give chase but Michaels and Guerrero use their speed and agility to fend them off. Finally the ref is able to gain control of the match and Guerrero and Big Show start the match. The WWE Champion gains advantage eventually over Big Show until Lesnar sneaks in behind the refs back and clubs Guerrero. Lesnar and Show proceed to take advantage for the next few minutes as Guerrero is really struggling. Guerrero manages to get out of the grasp of now legal Lesnar and makes the tag to Michaels. Michaels immediately clotheslines Lesnar and dropkicks Show off the apron. Later in the match, Michaels scoop slams Lesnar and climbs to the top and launches a elbow drop. Guerrero off the ropes and launches through the middle ropes through a suicide dive onto Show but Show CATCHES GUERRERO AND NAILS A CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!!!!! HBK tunes up the band and locks in on his target, Lesnar who is slow to get up. Show climbs on the apron and HBK kicks Show who falls down. HBK stares down at Show who has fallen on the outside, Lesnar is up behind Michaels as the crowd gasps. Lesnar lifts Michaels for the F-5 but Michaels reverses and nails Lesnar with the Sweet Chin Music!!! But he doesn’t have a chance to pin cause….TRIPLE H slides in the ring and nails Shawn Michaels with a sledgehammer leading to a DQ.

WINNER: EDDIE GUERRERO & SHAWN MICHAELS
via Disqualification in 12:45

Triple H goes outside of the ring and grabs the WWE title from the timekeepers area as Guerrero is slow to get up. Triple H nails Guerrero with the belt. Triple H slides in the ring and goes to hit Michaels again with the belt but out comes BOOKER T!!!! Booker T nails a high kick to Triple H knocking the belt out of his hands and to the mat. Booker T off the ropes and hits the Game with a devastating scissors kick. Getting some revenge for earlier in the night. Booker T plays to the crowd but he doesn’t realize Big Show is right behind him eying his next target. Show grabbed Booker T for a chokeslam but HBK SUPERKICKS SHOW saving Booker. Booker off the ropes and hits a scissors kick to a teetering Big Show. Brock Lesnar gets in the ring and stares down both Booker T and Shawn Michaels and just laughs and smirks as he points to the WWE title and signals that he will become champion once again and just leaves the ring. Michaels and Booker nod to one another out of a sign of respect but the GM interrupts the feel good moment and announces that NEXT WEEK there will be a huge six man tag team match pitting Brock Lesnar, Triple H and Big Show taking on Shawn Michaels, Booker T, and WWE Champion, Eddie Guerrero. Michaels and Booker stare down Lesnar as “Sexyboy” plays. The carnage is shown around the arena as Raw goes off the air.

Batista took control after Edge missed a spear and ran shoulder first into the ring post. Batista overpowered Edge for the remaining part of the match until Edge reversed a Batista Bomb into a SHARPSHOOTER!!!! Edge has the hold locked in strong as Batista struggles to pull himself to the ropes but eventually does to force a rope break. Edge goes for the edgecution but Batista shoves Edge out and then goes for a Batista Bomb but Edge wiggles out and bounces off the ropes and charges Batista and ducks a clothesline and Edge bounces off the other ropes and unleashes a huge SPEAR to Batista and pins for the win.

WINNER: EDGE

The crowd erupts in applause as the return of Edge results in a huge win for the Toronto native. Edge gets his hand raised as he knows he is one step closer to getting a chance at becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.

Backstage in the locker room a different looking United States Championship is shown that spins and the camera pans out and John Cena appears as he does the “you can’t see me” pose. Cena asked if everyone liked the new look. Cena then began rapping about his match against Kurt Angle tonight and is looking to win the World Heavyweight Championship and become a double champion. Kurt Angle comes into the room and claps for Cena’s performance and says Cena doesn’t stand a chance tonight against the Olympic gold medalist. Cena looked up and down at Angle and then laughed and just left the locker room as Angle looked pissed.

As Goldberg strides into the ring, the intensity in his eyes is unmistakable. "Stone Cold Steve Austin, get your ass out here!" he bellows into the microphone, his voice carrying across the arena with authority. "You think you can embarrass me at WrestleMania and get away with it? Not a chance!" But instead of Austin, it's Vince McMahon who interrupts the tense moment, his presence eliciting a chorus of boos from the crowd. McMahon, ever the showman, smirks as he steps into the ring, relishing the spotlight. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Goldberg," McMahon taunts, his voice dripping with arrogance. Goldberg's frustration is palpable as McMahon continues to speak, "Well, Goldberg," Vince McMahon declares, his voice oozing with confidence as he steps into the spotlight, "I'm not just offering you a chance to settle the score with Stone Cold Steve Austin. I've had disdain for Austin for years and years, and I want him destroyed for good. And if you can make that happen, you'll be rewarded with a handsome payday, and maybe even a future World Heavyweight title match." "Enough," Goldberg interrupts, his tone cutting through the air like a knife. "You've got yourself a deal. But mark my words, Vince," he adds, his voice dripping with menace, "I want Austin face to face on SmackDown next week. Or else." With a final glare at McMahon, Goldberg exits the ring with Vince looking a tad worried but then confidence comes over his face as he nods at Goldberg.
Michael Cole and Tazz hype the encounter between Goldberg and Vince and asks if Stone Cold will be here next week.
