But when it comes to genre specific there is always gonna be massive amounts of gray areas

I know that, I've just never really found them to be a metal band. They're not a band I really think of when someone says metal no matter the decade.

id say they were pretty quintessencial regardless of perception, they were a big part of those original NU metal tours with Korn etc

just so happened that bizkit became a fun meme of late 90s early 2000s rapcore lol

edit: i see them in the same light as Lincoln Park as well. its nowhere near heavy enough for me but its part of the genre history
