Tbh where you rank a band doesn’t take away their status. For example, you can say you hate the Beatles but that doesn’t change the fact they’re the most famous band of all time.

what you also fail to understand is that many people don't give a fuck about status or popularity. also Beatles being the most popular band of all time is relative to its time and probably actually untrue at this point by todays metrics if were going to get all technical. Id be willing to bet shit like BTS has gotten more ears on it nowadays. music didnt have the international reach it does now. also theres like 2 billion + ppl on the asian continent so again, "most popular in the world" is relative to the west only

The song gained a lot of popularity in the UK as it was on the soundtrack of Fifa 2003 which was the BIG Christmas game that year when everyone was getting a PS2

makes sense. obviously I fucking hate it for like a lot of reasons but I respect the choice . Always a fan of this kind of context though, sports game play is big. i also fail to see how the fuck that song fits in a sports game lmao
