A cameraman from celebrity-gossip website TMZ caught up with Dave Batista this weekend and he told them he was going to be fighting with MMA company, Strikeforce. He said he knew who his first fight would be against but he was not sharing it at this time.

MMAJunkie.com is reporting Batista has not signed with Strikeforce based off a statement issued to them by Strikeforce spokesperson Mike Afromowitz. Batista has had talks with Strikeforce but a deal has not been reached.

Conflicting reports here about whether or not Strikeforce have signed him. It wouldn't be beyond Strikeforce to sign him since they do like hiring big names even if they aren't that strong in the cage. I can't see them signing anyone before they have a fight elsewhere or at least some training.

I can't see Batista doing anything in MMA anyway, he has no amatuer wrestling background or any fighting background from my knowledge. Plus he is really old and how will he get past the drug testing? Seriously if he passes a steroid test I will be amazed.

i honestly hope he doesn't do mma! its horrible to think about him wrestling let alone actually fighting someone! he is far to old and would get to hurt in a cage! and i agree with ur drug testing comment!

I agree that he would most likely get hurt in the cage. This is something completely different to wrestling where people are trying to be safe with you rather than actually hurting you. Batista has no previous experience unlike Lesnar and Lashley and would get killed in the cage. Waste of money.
