Batista was interviewed for Live Audio Wrestling over the weekend, here are the highlights:
- He said it was easy to click while working with Shawn Michaels.
- Batista said the heat Vickie Guerrero generates is incredible in the arena, which is change from Teddy Long’s babyface GM character.
- He said he doesn’t want to take any time off. Batista said he has been doing some martial arts training and has taken steps to avoid injuries and build up his endurance and stamina.
- Batista said he’s 39 years old.
- Batista said he’s a big of mixed martial arts. He said the pro wrestling audience is different from the MMA audience, as the products are also different.
- Batista is said no one is over the Chris Benoit tragedy. He said they didn’t know the Benoit that killed himself and his family. He said he still loves Benoit, but despises what he did.
- Booker T has been vocal with his frustration regarding TNA in recent weeks. He has been a vocal critic of the booking, but observers say he seems to be happier with his character's direction since he turned heel.
However, he also melted down on the recent UK tour in frustration over the number of meet and greets he was asked to take part in, and because he unhappy with the lack of catering in the venues. A well-placed source notes that Booker was so frustrated that he threatened to leave the tour unless the company addressed the accommodation issues.
Booker spends most of his time playing video games backstage and some sources feel he's not doing as much to help the younger wrestlers as he lets on. Meanwhile, others say he's always played video games backstage dating back to his WCW days, and that sometimes gives the false impression that he's difficult to approach.
Those who know say the bulk of Booker's booking frustrations are with Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantel, but he seem to have a good relationship with Vince Russo. His frustration over the travel accommodations was said to be justified, as there was no catering at some of the buildings and or water on the tour busses when he made those complaints.
