Thanks to WrestlingINC.com readers Ian West, Zach Picciarelli and Roland for sending in these post-Royal Rumble PPV notes:
Batista was legitimately upset after he won the Royal Rumble match tonight after the crowd turned on him.
On his way back up the ramp, Batista got into a verbal altercation with a disgruntled fan who flipped him off. Batista could be seen on the big screen telling the fan that he'd snap him in half and then flipped the fan off while still on the big screen. He then mockingly did the "Yes!" chant at the top of the ramp while fans peppered him with boos. However, instead of using his pointer fingers, he used his middle fingers and flipped the crowd off.
You can check out a photo of Batista flipping the bird below (thanks to Zach Picciarelli for the pic):

Good point.Batista's fault. That was one crowd, yet how much does John Cena get booed? He got booed the fuck out of ECW: One Night Stand against RVD, hell they were throwing his shirt right back at him. He never sunk low enough though to go cuss out fans or flip them off, and hell he lost his match and lost the WWE Championship. Batista dealt with one crowd after winning the Royal Rumble. I have no symphony for Batista really, I just hope he turns heel.

@DK James does I thinkWho here does have a symphony?
(Good post, by the way. tunga: )
If it was supposed to be a change in character he would have done it before the PPV went off air. WWE didn't anticipate him being completely buried by the crowd, he didn't expect it, didn't know how to react so he reverted to what he knows best: crying like a little bitch.Maybe Batista's reactions were in-character?
I'm not saying that's the case and he's not an unprofessional, pretentious prick who thinks he's a lot more over than he really is. But I'm saying that the characterizations they've been using since the Summer Slam build have been a lot more meta than what they used to be. Maybe this was the plan all along: give Batista the Rumble win and let him take the heat. Or maybe it was hatched in the wake of his rather lackluster return.
