*Daniel Bryan Wants To Face Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 31, Talks Road To Recovery*

After capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Daniel Bryan returns to New Orleans this Monday on Raw for the first time since that memorable week. To promote the event, Bryan spoke to The Times-Picayune, where he reiterated that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is his dream opponent.
"Brock Lesnar is also supposed to be on (Monday's) show," Bryan said. "And to me, that's still my championship. My dream match for WrestleMania this year is if Brock Lesnar keeps the title and I win the Royal Rumble, and I wrestle Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 for the WWE championship. That's the match I want. That's the match that I've been thinking about this entire time that I've been injured."

After undergoing neck surgery in May, nerve damage prevented him from regaining strength in his right arm. Then in August, Bryan was scheduled to have more surgery on his neck in an attempt to alleviate the nerve issues that had caused him to lose strength in his right arm. Just a few days before the surgery, the doctors advised against it, and cancelled the operation. The doctors told Bryan that he just needed to do extensive rehab on his arm, and he did for several months, but strength still wasn't returning to his arm. He then discovered a doctor based out of Denver, Colorado, Dr.Greg Roskopf, founder of Muscle Activation Techniques, and after two rehabilitation sessions, began seeing positive results.

"It was like, 'Wow. I'm actually getting better,'" Bryan said, noting the condition of his right arm has incrementally progressed. "At the beginning of December, some parts of my right arm were even stronger than my left, which is pretty incredible given how long the nerve had been damaged."

Bryan recently returned to the gym has been training kickboxing and jujitsu. After working in the ring at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida a few weeks ago, Bryan felt like he was ready to return to action.

"Functionally, I feel great. My movement is great. Overall, I feel good," he said. "I didn't have any hesitation (in the ring), there was nothing that I did before that I can't do now. Not only that, mentally I've been recharged. I'm going to be better than ever."

I think this is crap. DB may not win the rumble, but them not being certain of his future is a stupid remark: of course they are certain of his future.

I feel that he'll come close to winning the rumble. It will probably come down to him and Roman and the crowd will be torn, much like when we saw Batista and Cena fight at the end of the Rumble back in 2005. Insomuch, we may see a double elimination between these 2 and the match might be restarted with Roman ultimately winning. Whether I like it or not, I do see Roman winning the rumble this year and DB prob winning next year.

WWE knows one thing about DB - he makes $. He sells tickets and merchandise. HE moves crowds unlike any other in the WWE. That's fact. Thus, even though he may not win the rumble, I can see him fighting The Rock at Mania or have some other big feud that, win or lose, makes Bryan look good. Roman will beat Brock at Mania for sure and reign for a while until Seth screws him over and takes the belt. I can see Bryan meanwhile (while Roman is still champion) still having big feuds with Triple H, Rollins, Bray, etc. and then he will probably win the belt sometime later this year. This would most likely happen when Roman isn't champion of course. Case and point: WWE is very certain of DB's future as he will definitely be a main event player no matter how you slice it. It would be extremely stupid not do so.

He doesn't always to have to win like Cena does at every PPV in order to be big.

Also, regarding the injury . . . to my knowledge, this is Bryan's first "big" injury....this doesn't mean he's injury prone. He just had a tough run. Triple H has completely ripped his quad muscle from the bone twice and was out for months, almost a year before. Does this mean that he's a "B" player?....of course not.

I don't think that was a face turn by Bork. Lesnar's supposed to be the heel, but no matter what he does, he's always gonna get cheered.

The steps to writing a pro wrestling article that will be posted and discussed wrestling fan message boards/sites:

1. Troll wrestling fan message boards/sites and see what everybody is debating about.
2. Write an article mentioning that "sources backstage" are discussing the exact same things. If it seems like an especially heated debate, make sure to include "quotes" from your "sources" that suggest one side or the other is coming out on top.
3. Credit your report to a "legit source on Reddit" (I was going to continue in this smartass vein, but I realize the hilarity of a "legit source on Reddit" all by itself, so I'll stop there).
4. Convince a "dirtsheet site" to post your article.
5. ???????????
6. Profit

7. Remind mom you asked for a sammich 20 minutes ago. ffs.

How was it not a face turn? He is doing all the shit a babyface does. He doesn't back down, he destroyed the entire heel stable and his chief nemesis is now Rollins. He and Cena have a competition now, not a blood feud like it is with Seth. What else does he need?

Because he's always been booked as this badass, unstoppable 'heel'.

I'm tellin' ya, it wasn't really a face turn. Lesnar will always be an 'unofficial' face while portraying a heel character.

No matter what Lesnar does, he'll always get cheered. Only ultimate marks can hate on this guy.

Lesnar is a babyface character who's treated as a heel because of his association with Heyman and the conceit that he's a "prize fighter". Of course, the ultimate reality is that every pro wrestler's gimmick is that they are "prize fighters", which simply means that they fight to make money.

If they continue booking him as they did at the end of the show last night, he'll turn face despite Heyman's presence. Of course, they could always have Heyman double-cross Lesnar to back Rollins, but I don't see them doing it if Lesnar doesn't sign a new deal. If that were to happen, there's nothing keeping Lesnar from going full-in as a babyface.

And he'll be the face of the company.

Of course, I also see a lot of money they're leaving on the table if they don't find a way to build a match between Lesnar and Bryan, which is a match I think a lot of people would love to see. But, again, if Lesnar signs a new deal, they may have two or three years to make that match pay off.

I dig your post WK. Heyman was the only thing keeping Lesnar heel, but even Heyman was babyfacing (new verb!) on The Authority last night. The Beast is unleashed!!!

I didn't see that as a face-turn for Lesnar either. Nothing says that heels can't feud with other heels (especially when said heel is one of the people gunning for your championship at the PPV) without going full-fledged face. It wouldn't surprise me to learn, though, that they may be testing the waters with a Lesnar face turn on Monday, but unless Brock signs a new deal, turning him good right now would be completely pointless unless they had a strong heel lined up for him to fight at Wrestlemania, and I can't even imagine who that would be (no, not Rusev.)

I still see Bryan vs Lesnar as the best possible match-up for Wrestlemania, although I'm so sick of having to endure all the overzealous Daniel Bryan marks on every forum I go to, that a small part of me actually wants Reigns to win just so I can witness in delight the sight of them having a total meltdown.

Me neither. That wasn't really a face turn by Lesnar, and even though he's booked as a prized fighter/heel, he's always gonna get cheered no matter what he does.

Although, the full blown face turn may be on the horizon, just like you said. It may happen at the Rumble or the night after the PPV. We'll see about that, though.

I still think this is gonna happen, I'm actually rooting for Bryan to win the Rumble and go on to face The Beast at Mania. Although, I wouldn't lose sleep at night even if someone else won the Rumble tonight.
