Backstage news on Maryse's release

Former WWE diva Maryse was released from the company on October 28th, a move that was a surprise to many backstage.

As to whether the decision was hers or WWE, a WWE source indicates that it was mutual. Maryse was already looking beyond WWE at getting back into modeling and possibly even posing for Playboy, but it was WWE that made the call to release her. Because the company did not see any issues with her going to TNA (like Gail Kim), they did not have as much of an issue letting her go.

Prior to her getting injured (and undergoing surgery to correct an abdominal hernia), there were plans to start an angle where Hornswoggle had the hots for her.

She was medically cleared to return several weeks ago and she was telling people that she was about to be brought back to television.

She is still dating Miz and currently resides in Southern California.

Sure a lot of people are gonna be happy to hear that she could possibly do playboy again. As I've said before I just think modeling is what she'll be doing and only way she comes back to wrestling is if WWE brought her back again.

It sucked to hear she was released as I'm gonna miss... well, just looking at her, but I'm happy to hear she's considering doing Playboy again.

I'm so glad that angle with Hornswoggle never happened as that's an example of some of the crap the WWE comes up with, although the angle probably would've been done on the never-ending season 5 of NXT.

Either way, Miz is such a lucky guy, but I wonder how he feels about her posing nude.

Not like it's gonna be the first time the world as seen her nude so would be silly of him to care if she did it again.

I was pretty shocked when i heard the news, I've kept up to date with NXT this season (god knows why) and that angle was already in the works before the injury and i believe they still had it going with AJ except she actually liked Hornswoggle. Anyway as stated i can't see her going to any other promotion and she will likely just continue modelling.

Maryse has been seen at a lot of fashion shows lately, she actually said she wanted to pursue a career in Modeling/Fashion. So I can see her being part of that, after all she got in WWE thanks to Diva Search.

lol don't see her ever doing that unless she got to a really low point where she needed the money. Playboy pretty much is gonna be as good as it gets when it comes to seeing her nude.

At least she wasn't completely blindsided by it then. It doesn't surprise me that she is looking to work outside of wrestling now. She can model and make a fair bit of money from Playboy. Plus I don't think that she would even consider TNA, if she would come back to wrestling it would be in WWE.

Wouldn't be surprised by that at all as it her character came off pretty natural which usually means she is somewhat like that in real life just amped up.

Yeah i remember a interview with some Diva, I can't remember who but anyway she said What you see on tv is exactly what she is like in real life.
