Isn't funny how Metal started out slow and now it is fast as hell?

I've been going through Iron Maiden's discography again recently (because, gotta use Spotify for something) and I'm sad that so many people disrespect Somewhere in Time. I've seen a few people doing Maiden retrospectives but they just pass over it between Powerslave and Seventh Son. Which sucks because it's really good

DEEP DEEP DEEP from the vault of Young Jeff, a personal favorite underground band, Main guitarist and singer now is the lead for legendary Quebec Metal band Voivod, replacing Piggy (rip)

all three of their albums are insanely good, but not the easiest to get a hold of outside youtube

So a bit more history from my neck of the woods growing up. This album, this band, was seriously over brother. Like mega over in the metal community. If you were into any sort of melodic death, you heard of Quo Vadis. These dudes were from Montreal, and this record just exploded into the scene. Everyone of my metal fiends had either a cd, a burnt cd or the mp3 files from SoulSeek *if you know you fucking know*

While the dueling guitar and catchy melodies are fantastic, pay attention to the drums. Dude was an absolute beast. yes the vocals are a bit rough, they get slightly better the next album, but remember, these dudes are french. same as the band above. anyways, hopefully it's enjoyable. high energy, relentless, melodic af. great running music or just to get pumped the fuck up.

the HUGE song was On The Shores of Ithaka :

anyways blah blah blah really important band of the era and region, and probably one of the most influencial bands for Quebec Tech and Melodic Death for the following 2 decades. I would put them in the holy trinity of Montreal Death Metal with Cryptopsy and Neuraxis - leading to the amazing bands we have today like Beyond Creation (check that shit out, fucking rules)
