My girlfriend isn't paper, so I'm confused how you "ripped" her.

I never said he was an awful drummer. He's just not an amazing drummer like people make him out to be.

Rev is overrated and his death helped push that.

It's always a bandwagon when someone like that dies. People like to hop on and pretend that they actually gave a shit about the guy just so they don't feel left out of his overblown death. I'm just waiting for the Peter Steele posers to go throwing him in their sig while never, ever saying one word otherwise about him or his band.

See, if Jimmy Page died, everyone I know would know my sadness is legit because they all know he is my favourite. I don't just suddenly act as if I liked the band just because someone died. Most of these people didn't even listen to the music. That's why it's gay.

Damn right about Peter Steele. I guarantee most of the people who are now giving him respect don't own the Carnivore albums or Type O Negative albums, never saw Type O in concert or even know who he is. I bought "Bloody Kisses" when it came out, seen them a few times & love the Carnivore albums. Type O Negative always put on a great show. Their first four albums (Slow Deep & Hard, Origin of the Feces, Bloody Kisses & October Rust) were a big part of the soundtrack to my teen years, as corny as it is to say that hack line.

Rev is getting respect the same that poseurs gave respect to Dimebag when he was murdered. If you die & were a musician, people who never listened to you will come out to claim how great you are. I'm waiting to see it happen when Vanilla Ice dies. Rev was a good drummer, but he was no Gene Hoglan or Dave Lombardo. Poseurs only know who Gene Hoglan is because of Dethklok & never heard Strapping Young Lad, Death or the hundred other bands he was involved with (seriously the guy is on a ton of albums). If The Rev was alive he probably would not have received the award, it probably would have gone to a more technical drummer. I like some Avenged Sevenfold that I've heard, particularly their early stuff, but I'm not going to claim that I'm a fan.

Jimmy Page, awesome guitar player, but Led Zep stole a lot of songs from lesser known artists. Even Stairway was lifted from another band, Spirit, who Zeppelin toured with. I'm an Iommi fan much more than Page. Iommi had much darker riffs.
