A debauched Austrian dad is under investigation for repeatedly raping his two mentally-disabled daughters in a cramped kitchen where they were imprisoned for 41 years.
The unidentified 80-year-old suspect terrorized the two women while locking them inside the small room where they had only a wooden bench for a bed, Austrian police said Thursday.
Authorities believe the sexual and physical abuse went on from 1970 through May of this year.
The case only came to light when the older daughter, now 53, shoved her elderly father to the ground as he tried to rape her again, according to a local newspaper report.
The woman and her 45-year-old sister escaped from their home in a village near the town of Braunau - although they didn't share their secret torture for weeks after fleeing the home in May.
A social worker found the injured father two days after his fall, setting the investigation in motion.
While holding the sisters captive, "the accused repeatedly threatened to kill them and threatened them with weapons," said a statement from police in the province of Upper Austria.
The suspect also banned his daughters from any type of "social contact," instead keeping them under lock and key inside their house.
The father is currently in a home for the elderly as the investigation continues. No charges were yet filed.
The incest probe was reminiscent of the case against Josef Fritzl, an Austrian who fathered seven children with his daughter over 24 years while holding her hostage in a windowless basement.
Fritzl, now 74, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison two years ago.
