Assassin's Creed Valhalla Getting "God Of War" Style Expansion Soon - Report - GameSpot

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has already received two substantial story DLC expansions, but its next one could potentially be larger than both combined.

According to industry insider Tom Henderson, who has accurately leaked details on Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Vanguard recently, the latest expansion for Valhalla could be announced as early as this week, presumably at The Game Awards on Wednesday evening. The expansion is reportedly scheduled for release in March 2022.

The content is expected to be around 40 hours of additional content, with Henderson stating that it "will be a 'God of War-style' expansion, whatever that means". Earlier this year dataminers uncovered something related to Valhalla called "Dawn of Ragnarok", which might explain the God of War connection and suggest that Valhalla is planning to get even more fantastical with its story.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has performed extremely well for Ubisoft, with the publisher planning to continue supporting it throughout 2022 in lieu of a new entry. The game's two expansions, Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris, have both extended the story of Eivor in setting-appropriate ways, but whatever this next adventure is could see the latest series protagonist take a plunge into Norse mythology in a way that Assassin's Creed Odyssey did with its Atlantis-based DLC.

Fun game, I'll definitely give this a peep if I fancy getting more content out of this game. Map was huge though so I still have so much to do in these games.

I'm missing the Overdesign II trophy for the platinum. But after the 200+ hours I have on that game, I had to stop playing. Had the season pass so I did all the DLC already too. I will definitely play more especially with more 40+ hours of more content.

It's impossible to claim my free PS5 upgrade with the PS4 disc, apparently it's a common issue on the European store. It's extremely annoying.

The Paris DLC was very enjoyable, a lot of content and some interesting quests, it's just a shame they had everyone in France speak perfect English with a thick accent. It sounds so unnatural, even the farmers speak it with a spotless grammar. Reminds me of AC Unity.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s second year of free updates includes a new game mode

‘Roguelite-inspired’ Forgotten Saga sends Eivor to Hel

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will get another year of free, post-release content, which includes a new game mode, the “roguelite-inspired” Forgotten Saga, which sends Eivor straight to Hel, repeatedly.

In The Forgotten Saga, Eivor apparently takes on waves of enemies in a variety of different locations of Niflheim, “cast out” by Hel herself once he’s overcome. There will be rewards and progression earned as players notch milestones, and learn how to overcome the procedurally generated challenges.

The Forgotten Saga was not given a specific launch date or window. It will be joined in the second year of support by another set of Mastery Challenges; the first, which arrived in June 2021, added repeatable combat and stealth trials, plus weapons and other rewards. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will also get an updated armory with more weapons, gear, armor, and costuming options, as well as new Tombs of the Fallen to explore and solve.

The Tombs puzzles will arrive this fall, Ubisoft Montreal said during Tuesday’s Assassin’s Creed Celebration livestream. The newest dungeons will “close the mystery behind Tombs of the Fallen,” developers said.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launched in November 2020, two years after its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. In July 2021, Ubisoft confirmed that it is developing a game codenamed Assassin’s Creed Infinity, a live-service title that will involve multiple historical settings. No launch date or official title has been announced for that yet.

New free DLC planned for next month, it will be a conclusion to Eivor's story. Ubisoft also said that they won't implement a new game plus mode.

I finished this game almost 2 years ago and I remember very little from the plot and characters so I would've liked to be able to replay the whole story quickly with all my gear, shame.
