But it's an elimination chamber, booked ad WWE's most deadliest match and what's on the line....a #1 Contender's spot...

It's not like it's money in the bank either. I can understand wanting Rock not to be injured, but Del Rio's WHC should at least be defended in the EC.

Whilst I agree that a PPV should have one of its major championships defended, I can't help but agree with WWE's decision to keep this as a #1 contender. I think pretty much all fans know that reigns won't come to an end at the EC PPV as they have already started building for Wrestlemania. It is WWE's fault for having this PPV, it shouldn't exist.

I think a #1 contender match is more unpredictable to fans than a title match.

It's as unpredictable as Rico coming back to win the WWE championship.

I am reasonably interested and will let the build have a chance to get me more excited.

Well the state of Punk rock isn't what it used to be, bands like the Ramones and Sex Pistols are long gone.......

What? This is a wrestling thread? :silva:

The build, i'm hyped for yes. The match will only be if; Rock does alot of Cardio and shakes off the ring rust or Jericho dons a Rock outfit.

Not in the slightest. Partially because I really don't have much interest for anything going on today in wrestling. However what makes this one particularly sting is they had the perfect opportunity to create something that not only would get me excited but would get me watching on a weekly basis rather than skimming through results just so I can contribute something on here without being completely out of the loop.

Having The Rock defend the WWE Championship in the chamber could've been awesome and I have no idea why WWE didn't pull the trigger on this idea. It's not like he has to take any bumps on the steel or even wrestle for more than five or so minutes (since he'd enter last). The build would be much better in my opinion this way. During the Raw where Rock was absent, we could've seen more time dedicated to the other participants. For the rest of the build, you have The Rock and while they can certainly keep the focus on Rock/Punk, it would at least allow them to naturally allow Rock the chance to interact with some of the other members of the roster, meaning Rock can do work with some people who actually might benefit from working with him.

I think WWE could benefit with some blood in the upcoming Elimination Chamber match.
Let Dean Ambrose release his inner Jon Moxley for a night.
