So this is how this thread developed. I was at school a couple days after the WWE were in town back in July I think (yes, I do take a long time to post threads =/) and there were these kids in my year talking next to me. Well more like fighting, but anyway. One kid was using wrestling as way to put the other guy down, as he watched in back in primary school although IDK if he still watches, but the guy who was putting the other one down, I saw at the show a few days before, using something he enjoyed to put the other kid down. So I came to the conclusion he must be embarrassed to be a fan.

Are you? If somebody brings up something about whether you like wrestling, do you deny it?

I suppose I'm on the fence. I don't openly promote my wrestling fandom but if someone asks me I'm not going to deny it, it's just like any other show people watch.

Now you.

I'm 100 % open on wrestling. I wore wrestling shirts to school before. I wore then alot of places because I feel like its something you like something you love why be embarrassed about it. So my answer if you didn't figure out by now is no.

I have a nut sack so I don't get embarrassed by ridiculous things such as being ridiculed for liking wrestling. Even if they did try and start with me, I'd go 3x harder on them. Which I have in the past.

People make fun of me because I am a wrestling fan, but meh, I don't truly give a shit. I talk all the time about wrestling, everybody knows I buy wrestling DVDs and action figures.

Lol,I even used to mock people with wrestling taunts. When I got an A grade in an exam and I was the only one, it was time for some "Destiny" taunts, right in front of the class. Hell, I even got my entire class to use Cena's "you can't see me taunt", and to this day the use it.

I did my trimestrial oral presentation last year about Triple H.

lol that reminds me of myself back when i was your age. But imagine wrestling being popular and everyone was giving each other a hells yeah throwing fingers in the air and "Suck It" with the dx taunt some people would jump up and throw out the tongue via xpac. Then it was Rock's eyebrows and Jabroni talk and all those timeless saying's he's had. Then it was Jericho's classic promos with stephanie, I feel so stupid not being able to recall them word for word but i'm sure someone else will.

Oh and for my language story exam I wrote a story about Christian winning Royal rumble and going onto wrestlemania and beating the undefeated undertaker.

Godfather and his Ho train, Kurt angle and his Olympic charm, the three i's his taunt for his entrance, man there's so many more, those were the days.

My mates know I like it, but I don't go around telling people. It's not that I'm worried about being teased or anything. I get the piss taken out of me for being small, pale, skinny, and a vego anyway. Adding another thing wouldn't matter.

Hmm... This is a very interesting subject close to me.

I s'pose my close friends don't care that I like wrestling, they don't think different of me, but randoms, who just find out, who are full of themselves, always bag me for liking it, only using the fact that it's 'fake' and all.

Every single time, I have to go through the big lecture that it's actually overexaggerated, and they do hit eachother, just not very hard, and it's all in the spirit of entertainment etc etc, and I'm getting pretty annoyed with it, I've done it for years.

But I myself, am not embarrassed to be a wrestling, only when it's brought to someones attention, and start saying it's fake do I get pissed or anything. They don't know anything about it, and go by the mainstream public go by

I did my first ever High School English essay on Shawn Michaels. :laugh2: And got an A, of course.

I used to openly promote it, but that kinda stopped when I came to High School so I wouldn't get labelled as 'that wrestling kid'. Looking back it was stupid, but at the time it seemed the smartest thing to do.

It's the same with most things that aren't mega mainstream though, there'll always be ignorant people who've never seen a match in there life who assume it's two bodybuilders swinging fists that stop 3 feet away from contact, so I don't even bother discussing it.

In Primary School there were lots of fans, I remember even having our own 'Master Lock Challenges' on the playground. Perhaps I'll go the J-Dawg route, just be Mr. Wrestling fan until people give up.

Or just hit the RKO then punt them in the head. :shifty:

You're 15?

I'm not embarrassed at all. I cop shit all the time by ignorant cunts. I roll them with facts of how pathetic they are compared to professional wrestlers. I was so over it that I went off at someone and completely rolled him. I'm respected anyway at school, so I don't really have any problems at school.

I don't feel the need to tell my firends as I know they aren't fans. I have non-school freinds who like it though so I'll talk to them, and I really dont see the point of telling people and risking them paying me out if I know they dont like it anyway. On a side note, in primary school I wore a wrestling shirt and got paid out by like, everyone, so after about 5 minutes I turned it inside out and everyone has forgot.

I wore a wrestling shirt during sport one time, nobody really noticed. Although it was Triple H's old skull one, so only a wrestling fan would know what it was.

If I had friends who were into wrestling, I probably wouldn't come here often.

^^ For X-Power.

Don't hide what you love. Don't pretend to be something you're not. This is an excerpt from my MySpace page..

Things I can not stand: People who are self-centered and only care about their own opinion and no-one else's and think that if someone likes something they don't like that it's shit.

Soulja Boy.

Techno music. The fact I wrote 'techno' and 'music' in the same sentence means I'm in a good mood.

People who are insecure about whether they are 'cool' and only like things other people like because they are scared they'll get bagged. To me, a sign of having balls is not being afraid to like something no-one likes. I get bagged all the time for liking wrestling and rap. But that's because those people are like the people I stated in my first paragraph of things I can not stand. Be yourself for fuck's sake.

People who can't take a hint.

Well I don't pretend I don't watch wrestling, but I'm not gonna randomly float around going 'I love Double Double E' like a cheap Kozzy rip-off. Anybody who's been to my house knows I love wrestling, or anybody who I know isn't a complete douchebag.

But I suppose everyone has one sort of 'nerdy' (not the best word I'd use to describe it, but meh) past time or interest, wrestling is mine.

Likewise...

I have a mate who watches most of the PPVs with me, but he doesn't really keep up with TV and the storylines etc. so is mainly just concerned with ring-action.

On topic: I rediscovered my love of wrestling a few years ago at the age of 30... Try riding that one out with yer homeboys who find the whole concept of wrestling utterly rediculous! LOL

...Funniest thing for me is when you rumble other people for being closet wrestling fans (see my 'wrestling buddy' mentioned above)!
