Probably. I wouldn't say it's a boom period as much as it is the wrestling business finally regressing to the average after two decades of there being no competition outside of WWE. It's arguably the most profitable time in wrestling since the late 1980s, when (at least internationally) wrestling was doing it's best business.

WWE is making more money now than ever before so you can consider it a boom in that sense.

They’re hot right now(New regime, Punk and Orton returning, etc) the question becomes how long can they sustain it.

They’re always going to be #1 watched wrestling show on TV, but I wouldn’t call it a boom til they start hitting 2.5-3mil on a consistent basis

Hopefully longer than the "boom" they had when Cena and Batista took over. Benoit incident put an end to that !

I say this is likely the biggest industry wide growth since the end of the Attitude Era and WCW's death. We have WWE making some of the most money it has, AEW being a clear #2, and then there's multiple promotions in North America where wrestlers can make their living, along with a generally stronger independent scene and international promotions getting more coverage and accessibility than before.

you will never get 2.5 to 3 million weekly with a shrinking tv market and smackdown going to non-cable. that's setting impossible expectations. Also not everything is tv ratings, at all.

As far as the OP question, we've been in a boom period since approx. 2-3 years into AEW and it kicked into full gear when HHH took over creative in WWE. 100% is a boom as far as I am concerned even with AEW taking a small step back in popularity. WWE's rise more than makes up for that.

As far as I am concerned, the boom only ends when both companies are cold as ice and I don't see that happening for another year or two min

I say we are in a boom period and most do realize it. WWE and AEW trade back and forth every 6-12 months on who the hottest company is or making the biggest moves. Impact is becoming TNA. More people are exposed to New Japan. And if Corgan wasn't so excited about his cocaine spot, NWA would get on national television.
