Honestly, I am wondering if it is a setup to get more ratings. Lead people on for two years that Cody will be the one to beat Roman... then, at the last minute take it away.
I mean, I haven't watched Raw in forever and I watched it yesterday because I wanted to see what was going on.
People have been talking about Rock vs Roman for so long. Plus, it is Wrestlemania 40, so they want something special on it. Why not make people think it is Rock vs Roman?
The most important thing is that they have not announced what the match is going to be, however. That is what gets me the most. I think they are leading us on, making us think they are taking away something fans have been wanting for two years. I almost think if they were going Rock vs Roman, they would have announced the match already to promote it big time for Wrestlemania.
What they are promoting right now, although it doesn't seem like it on the surface, is Cody vs Roman. They are getting the audience worked up for the match by making it seem like it won't happen. They are using the disappointment of last year in their favor.
That is sort of what I am seeing from what I have been watching. I think it is a bad way to promote, but again, it has been working.
And hey, it has got my wrestling mind working too. It's been a little stale and burnt out lately, I know. But this is one of the things I enjoy about wrestling, pondering on theories of what is going on. I haven't done that in a LONG time.
