Are things a little too turn happy?

I know this is something that some bookers (Bischoff, Russo) have been criticized for in the past... is WWE getting too turn happy lately? We had the double turn, Rhodes turning, Punk re-turning, Orton supposedly turning soon, Henry sort of face turning, and Big show is probably returning as a face (left as a heel).

Is this becoming or potentially becoming a problem? We are all in agreement that in recent months the product has improved, but has it just been a huge amount of turnover in wrestler disposition? Sometimes change can seem like it is for the better in the short term, but is the momentum sustainable? Naturally when you have half of the roster changing character in such a short period of time it leads to some fresh material, but I fear after the luster begins to dim from all of the recent changes we may find ourselves back to square 1 a bit, with things feeling stale once again.

Had to be done. It seemed that most of the big names were heels (Punk, Lesnar, Ziggler, Henry) and we've seen the battle the same faces (Cena, Sheamus, Orton) it seems like for years. Something needed to be done to freshen things up. I don't think it's a trend that will continue, at the most we may get an Orton turn, but I think that'll be the end of it as far as the guys on the higher end of the card.

If it's giving them something to do then I don't see the problem. I think Rhodes and Punk DESPERATELY needed face turns, especially Cody because this is the first real angle that he's had since early 2012. Henry turning was just beyond confusing though. As long as the turn is for good reasons then I'm perfectly ok with it.

Henry's face turn was a terrible decision. He showed in that GOAT promo that he was an awesome heel.

Rhodes, Ziggler and ADR needed their turns and hopefully Orton will turn soon.

Yeah a lot of people are turning, but in recent weeks WWE has improved overall, so I don't see it as a problem as long as the product is getting better. I'm sure that many turns in such a short amount of time would be done unless something good was planned for each and every one of em.

Feels more like WWE resetting the roster a bit. There was a need for some new faces and new heels either way.

I don't think it'll be a problem in particular. It gives them fresh material and all and if they didn't turn I don't see how it could've been worse.

He's great as heel, but if WWE doesn't turn him he may not fit in future storylines, that's why they have done something good with Henry at all, because I like Henry fighting if I'm honest.

I don't have a problem with it as the turns have all made sense (except for Henry, but more on that in a second.)

Cody Rhodes going face freshens him up a lot and puts him in the middle of a meaningful feud by splitting with/putting him against a guy he's been teaming with since last Fall, the same man who just won the MITB briefcase, Damien Sandow.

The double turn at Payback between Ziggler and Del Rio was pulled off flawlessly and I don't think anyone saw it coming (aside from Dolphins1925, apparently.) The fans have been reacting to Ziggler as a face accordingly and I don't mind Del Rio as a face or a heel, though he has a certain smugness look about him that leans itself to being more of the heel type.

Punk had to turn face out of necessity. He was cheered during his entire heel run and they were even chanting his name right along with Undertaker's the night he walked out. And I doubt anyone expected anything but him being met with a big ovation when he returned. He also has to be a face to split from Heyman and feud with Brock Lesnar.

I'm still not sold that Randy Orton will turn heel by cashing in on Bryan. On paper it looks that way, but Orton's character and his independent nature and the fact that his nickname is "The Viper" (who will strike at anyone at anytime and do just about anything to get what he wants) might suggest that he'll still be cheered or pretty much act the same even with cashing in on a weakened fan favorite. It's not like he's breaking the rules or anything, the rules state that he has that right, though that doesn't mean the fans won't resent him for it. If he tries to punt kick Bryan into oblivion or something during the cash in, that'll be a different story. Regardless, if he goes full heel, it still makes sense as this given time.

Mark Henry is the main one that seems like it was just done for the sake of turning somebody. I guess the plan is that he's another guy being fed to The Shield and Ambrose getting a win over him (most likely) will make Ambrose look better and give him/them bragging rights about how even the World's Strongest Man can't take down The Shield, but otherwise, I don't see a whole lot of potential in a baby face Henry. It's hard to think of any other feuds that I'd want to see Henry in where I'd prefer Henry as the face over the other guy. I'll remain optimistic, though.

Just from 2011, remember when Russo turned Anderson heel to join with Immortal just to have him lose the belt and feud with Immortal 3 weeks later before doing the dumbest non-Austin heel turn in history with Kurt Angle? There's a big difference between this and that.

Don't forget the ADR heel turn. I think they did that one really well though. It seemed when Ziggler used the MiB contract it was like he went instant face. The crowd LOVED it that night after Wrestlemania.
