I also don't get the heel thing here because almost everyone in this thread is saying how it's hardly a change and they still find him boring.

Turning heel made everything different for Del Rio, even though he hasn't changed anything in his moveset or spots, but now he makes angry scowls and it's "yeah, he still boring" BUT now being called "more aggressive" "picked up his ring work"? Yeah, I'll stick with my original statements on these if you don't mind.

This is like how Show became better in the ring when he turned heel, or how Henry is on the run of his career everytime he turned heel. Or how Orton is a better heel simply by doing much less in the ring than all of them did when they were faces.

People like aggressive heel ring work opposed to people playing to the crowd like Hogan did in the 80s.

Normally, I'd agree with you because the IWC mentality of "turn everyone heel" is one of my biggest pet peeves, but it doesn't apply here because they all still hate Del Rio.

Yeah I get the heel point usually too but it def does not apply to Del Rio cause he was called boring his first heel run as much as he was called boring as a face. I actually liked his feud with Big Show and thought that was the best Del Rio had been character wise in his career in WWE thus far. If anything the generalized consensus is that faces work better in the ring than heels and heels are better characters and really that isn't inaccurate. Pretty sure a lot of people praised Orton for his in ring work as a face and always bash Randy "Resthold" Orton in ring wise when he is heel. For Del Rio either way he is great in the ring and either way he is boring character wise he just happens to be having his best standout streak in the ring wise imo right now and happens to be heel while doing it. Has nothing to do with omg he's heel he's so much better now it is about him being on a roll in the ring. So I get the point you're trying to put over here Deezy and usually it'd hold some weight but Del Rio is a bad example esp when you read the responses in the thread.

I never said anything about them finding him boring and whatnot, it's the fact that people are "yeah but"'ing his "recent work". And to me, that just screams of "heels r teh kewl" type of mentality of a large section of the IWC.

My first statement was that he was overpushed, the guys been in the WHC title picture for two years. I just noticed a pattern and pointed it out. I'm not on some crusade to shit on the IWC here, all I'm doing is as Konnan likes to say "I'm not hatin, just statin'".

I like Del Rio. Like the character, like the ring work, and his mic work is really good too considering how short it took him to learn English. I think its WWE booking that makes Del Rio boring. It seems like they are hell bent on giving him 5-6 month feuds. His feud with Sheamus was just awful near the end. They had what, 5 PPV matches? Then it seemed like they were never going to let the Rey feud in. Then we got stuck in Del Rio vs. Orton every week. And all his feuds are booked the same. Del Rio attacks Superstar B on Raw. Superstar B attacks Del Rio on Smackdown. Repeat until PPV.

I think why people may be liking him more lately is because we're getting quicker, better feuds. He seems to be moving on from opponents a lot quicker, which I think makes a good champion.
