By Jeebak's logic I would not be allowed to have an evolving or changing opinion. Sure I can like Flairs matches from long ago but I can also dislike what he has been doing currently. Just like I can with any athlete, celebrity or public person. I have no duty to stick by anyone who I no longer root for in that way. I'd rather instead just remember the things about him or her I like and leave it at that.
