Announcing... the Wrestling Smarks Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame!
_____________________________

Do you have strong opinions on who is worthy of induction into a Hall of Fame? Well congratulations! You're now finally important enough to have input on it!

The Wrestling Smarks Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame has arrived! On the hallowed grounds of this forum we shall, as a community, enshrine and immortalize the greatest to ever step foot in this business we all have such a passionate love/hate relationship with! And just in time for apocalypse too!

So here's the deal, we will decide on new inductees for this Hall of Fame every year right around WrestleMania season. There will be five inductees annually and the nomination process will be handled in two phases.

- Phase one: Each and every member of this forum may send in a list of 10 wrestlers they want to nominate for the Hall of fame. You will order your lists 1-10, with whoever your first pick is getting 10 points, the second choice getting 9 points, and so on down the list. The top 10 nominees in terms of points will be finalists for the induction.

- Phase two: The 10 finalists will be announced. You will then be asked to choose 5 of the finalists, and just like the first phase, you will list them 1-5 in order of who you want to give the most points to. The 5 top point getters will be the inductees of that year's Hall of Fame.

- You may nominate anyone who has ever been a part of the business. Wrestlers, tag teams, stables, managers, announcers, promoters, referees... they're all up for nomination. Wrestlers must be at least semi-retired or semi-active to nominate.

- Tag teams and stables do count as one pick, so if you wish to nominate The Road Warriors, The Four Horsemen, The Steiner Brothers or whatever, they will only take up one spot on your list. You do not have to list them individually, although of course you can also list members of groups individually if you deem them worthy of induction. So, for example, you may nominate both The Four Horsemen, as well as Ric Flair.

- You can absolutely campaign publicly for people you want to see inducted, but please do not reveal your full lists in the thread.

- Send in your nominations to me via private message. Nominations for the first phase will be open until April 3rd. I'll post the finalists over WrestleMania weekend and then we will have another week for you to choose from the finalists. Simple enough right?

Send in your nominations now!

Solid OP and this looks simpler than a lot Hall of Fames on forums tend to get. I can't wait to see the first class.

I made a small change to the criteria that wrestlers need to at least be semi-retired to be eligible for nomination. Meaning you could nominate Goldberg, John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker and such... but no nominating guys like Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy, and obviously no nominating full time guys like Reigns, Rollins and Bryan.

No one has done that yet but I just want to get that established beforehand.

I nominated Jericho should I change that? I think that'd be the only one on my list though.

Jericho is such a tough one, especially because AEW doesn't do live events so you don't even know if he'd show up for those or not.

I'll say Chris Jericho is eligible.

As is Brock Lesnar for anyone wondering.

As a rough guideline, anyone who is working a reduced schedule or has retired at least once should be fine. :lol

It's your thing so I'm cool with it but personally I'd leave out Jericho and Brock as well for your criteria. It's a gray area so it's whatever though, if people really don't think they fit the criteria then they don't have to nominate them in the second round anyway. I'm gonna go ahead and send in a replacement for Jericho just for myself lol

Fine with me. I'll leave those gray area guys up to the discretion of the voters, I suppose. But if they're a fully active wrestler, I'm going to ask that they be replaced.

For instance, I also wouldn't nominate Daniel Bryan either...but he also retired once. Yeah leaving a lot up to voter's discretion is cool lmaoooo
