AJ debuted in fucking Orlando. Where he spent over a decade of his career. Forgive me if I say that may have had an impact on his reception on his debut.
Kenny Omega has spent majority of his career in Japan. They are not going to fly in a Tokyo crowd to pop the building if Kenny debuts

I'm sure it had something to do with it but I'm pretty sure the crowd would have popped for AJ anyway, the same way the majority of the WWE fanbase says that AJ is the best wrestler in the world right now.... those aren't just the Orlando fans saying that, it's the world

WWE is starting to head in a little bit of a different direction with all of this talent & the fans are starting to be based a little more around the indy promotions and even the kids who are there are starting to get into the indy stuff too.

WWE fans have a hard on for anything "Bullet Club" right now & there is a Japan wrestler fetish so I'm pretty sure alot of the fans went online to read up about AJ's past and who else is in The Bullet Club.
We will have to agree to disagree man, sorry, I'm pretty sure just a few people will know who Kenny Omega is lol ....and I think he will get a pop if he comes out at the Rumble.

Who knows maybe we'll find out.

You realize this is after AJ has spent close to a year working the best matches on the show and constantly locked in feuds with some of the most beloved and over guys in the company right?

AJ was not a overnight success in the WWE. His reactions post Rumble were very much muted, but WWE had a plan for him from the word go where he was immediately slotted into a program with Jericho before he went into a program with Cena and then he went into a program with Ambrose. AJ's rise to being the best wrestler in the WWE is very much a finely detailed masterplan that has clicked to a T. IF they got Omega I am fairly certain they would do the same with him. But Omega also has a history of comedy wrestling and that is a big no no in Vince's book. You work comedy and you're a geek. No main events for you.

Vince LOVES stupid comedy... he fills the show with it lol. I disagree on AJ, I think everybody was all over him right away and like I said I'm pretty sure the newer fanbase knows Kenny Omega or have looked him up due to AJ and then due to all of the hype surrounding him... He will get a big pop. If he shows, which he probably won't.

I never heard of Kenny omega until about a week ago.

I didn't hear of aj until he entered at #3 last year.

And I'd love to see angle back for 1 more match. Just 1. Hell have him enter the rumble and be eliminated right away by someone like strowman

Oh yeah as soon as styles debuted I knew he was obviously a fan favourite and quickly realised why.

Vince McMahon has said Kurt Angle is never wrestling for him again. Kurt is a physical fucking wreck. When he worked his last two years in TNA he was literally in a wheelchair until he stepped through the curtain. Back in it as soon as he came back backstage.

Of course he is going to say he can still go. To say anything else is admitting defeat/growing old in a business consisting of alpha males.

And you're very much over reaching if you think the crowd is going to go into some sort of mass rebellion if Omega doesn't show. 90% of WWE's fanbase does not know who the man is. If majority of WWE's fanbase knew who the New Japan guys are Luke and Anderson would have been much much bigger things on debut.

The reason most of the indy/international darlings spend a minimum of 6 months in NXT is to get the main casual fanbase who only watch WWE (aka majority of their fans, only a small vocal minority watches non WWE wrestling) to build some knowledge of who they are so when they go to the main roster they get bigger reactions.

AJ Styles is the standard set for a outsider debut, but he is not the general rule for how they will go an get over.

I agree with you on the fact that if Omega and Angle don't show up the crowd won't care nobody is going to shit on the show if they aren't there no one even knows Omega. I do think you're overreaching with Angle's injuries though like everyone knows they are bad, but I don't believe they are as bad as you think they are.

As much as I want Angle to be in the Rumble, his health matters more. I don't want him to get paralyzed. I would love to have him in a managerial, or GM type role though. That would be awesome.

They got nobody else for a surprise ...thinking maybe that's why HHH told him to go on ESPN & tell him to say "it ain't happening" because they realized "we ruined the surprise"

Then again... WWE isn't that bright so who knows

I mean it's not like the Omega situation where he explained for an hour about how he was better off in NJPW, this could totally be a work, it does happen. It's not like the rumble is a physically grueling match, he just had an amazing match with Cody Rhodes, 2 of them actually.

Unless maybe the got The Hardy Boys I can't think of any other big name they might have got for a surprise unless it's something absolutely out to left field & out of the blue like Austin or something hahaha.... blow the roof off that place, that would be insane lol in his home town... stars aligned for his final match.... Not gonna happen haha but still it would be insane. biggest pop not only in RR history but in history

but yeah... the royal rumble is FOR surprises and they have ZERO... people don't watch it for a good wrestling match.

NXT call ups & HHH are not surprises.... everybody knows it's happening already as well as Finn's return so they have nothing unless they have Angle or the Hardys.

I sense a Eugene or Zach Gowan return for this rumble...maybe even one of them will win it all!
