As the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) struggled to keep their second show from being cancelled, they have now taken fire from Greg Jackson and his gym. They timed the end of the first round, which showed it went eight seconds longer. In those seconds, Andrei Arlovski was nearly finished by Anthony Johnson. Arlovski also suffered his broken jaw during that time.
Jackson's camp released the following statement of their Facebook account:

"The NJ athletic commission was worried about the World Series of Fighting getting a new canvas and new corner pads for the cage they almost canceled the fight Saturday night. Unfortunately they forgot to get a time keeper that was trained properly. 1st round 5min 8 sec in the Andrei fight. A devastating blow was landed after the 5min mark. It's amazing how so much time is spent with over regulating but the simple things can cost dearly."

The fight would go the full five rounds with Johnson taking the decision win. It snapped Arlovski's four fight win streak and marked Johnson's heavyweight debut. There has been no word if the fight will be changed to a no contest.

The promotion had issues at weigh-ins and hours before the first fight because of problems with their cage.

Well I guess things are starting to heat up between Greg Jackson's fighters and the Blackzillians... first banning Melvin Guillard, now this!

Jackson is relentless, so I see this relationship crumbling even more.

Is eights seconds really that big of a deal? I mean do these guys need breaks every five minutes on the dot?

It seems to me to be a bunch of guys bellyaching over a loss. You win some, you lose some.

I know I need a one minute break after a 5 minute round! lol, MMA is exhausting.. especially considering all the technique and strength that you put into it.

The thing with MMA is that it's all explosiveness which is tiring after 5 minutes. With pro wrestling it's different, they're usually power lifting which is tough but not as tiring as MMA.

I don't mean to compare, I just know what its base is athletically.
